How do you beat the blues?

Everyone feels down in the dumps some days. Whether you call it the blues, in a funk, or whatever...we've all been there. What do you do to get yourself out of feeling that way or do you just let it naturally run it's course? I don't often feel that way, but when I do I'll feel better after playing some guitar or a good nap.

Sometimes that is what is needed - a good nap. We all need sleep and sometimes, we don't even realize it that we haven't got enough sleep. A good nap or a chance to sleep in will often give people more energy. That has often helped me.
Also, what helps me is doing something for someone else who needs help. I keep some granola bars in the car, just to hand out to the homeless people asking for money at the traffic lights. I don't give them money but a granola bar or some other non-perishable food. It is just a gesture to show that someone does care and realizes that they are human beings who may need some encouragement.
By encouraging others, this will often get me out of the blues and back into the sunshine.

Doing something for someone else is a great idea. Putting a little sunshine into someone else's life and seeing their reaction is sure to lift spirits. i wish there was more of that going around.

I know some people who like to meditate with all that deep breathing. Seems to work for them. I will put on some good upbeat music too. Blink 182 usually puts me in a good mood.

Usually good nap indeed helps, because lacking sleep will make me in a bad mood . So usually after nap I can feel better. But if it’s something which happened that made me sad then I usually dstract myself by playing some games or reading a manga or novel. Trying to keep my mind busy doing work also sometimes helps. Or maybe trying to eat or drink something delicious so I can forget my blues.

and smile a lot..fake it till you make it style
