I got to babysit my 10 month old grandson last night. My son put him to bed before they left for their party. I was so happy to babysit even though he was asleep. They have a monitor on his crib and a small one in the living room so you can see and hear him. Wish they had that when my kids were small...lol...Since I don't have Showtime I got to watch Dexter and I watched all 8 episodes that I missed. I didn't take my nighttime meds because if I did I never would have heard my grandson if he cried so I didn't sleep all night! Since 8:00 this morning when I came home I've slept off and on on the couch. Tonight I'll take my meds and sleep like a baby! Have you ever stayed up all night for some reason? How did you feel the next day?

Dexter... I have been told to get into this show, as it's all on Netflix which I have, but I watched one episode and it was a little too creepy/gory for me. 8 episodes in a row sounds like a LOT of TV. I never stay up watching TV but I do stay up sometimes reading or going out with friends and I always feel like crap when I have to wake up really early the next day. That's why I try to limit myself.. And make sure I get my 7-8 hours a day. Ha. Sounds like you had a relaxing(ish) New Years Eve. I'm sure your son appreciated you babysitting for them!

It's not really creepy if you know the whole story. I think this is it's 7th season and worth the time spent watching it. Yes that was a lot of tv but there is no pc there so I had nothing else to do and I wanted to make sure I watched all of the episodes right up to the finale. I got my Dexter fix!

I think it was a small price to pay for the reward you got, besides you only missed your nighttime meds on once occasion, that will make little difference. Sounds like you had a wonderful time, even though he was asleep! I hope you get more offers to babysit him, and perhaps next time he'll be awake! Years ago I got an atari console for Christmas, (shows my age) and my father and I were up all night long, through the morning till 5am playing asteroids, space invaders and pac man! I wasn't that old but because it was Christmas dad turned a blind eye, besides he didn't really care, he was too busy with the game! Boy did I suffer for it the next day!

Yes, your showing your age...lol...but I think I"m older than you! It's wonderful to have that memory of plaing games with your Dad and yes the being tired was more than worth it. I would do anything for my kids even if it means I have to do a little suffering.

I have had sleepless nights due to either work or just plainly could not fall asleep. Well, the following morning isn't that bad. I am not at all grumpy unless provoked!

I did, actually I always do. I stay late at night to finish school works, paper works, group projects and other school thing. That's how I do. Im used to getting not enough sleep I know it is bad for my health but that's just the way it is so I cannot complain about it or something.

I experienced staying up all night when my baby is just three days old he doesn't sleep at all so I have to cuddled him all night long.. it happens I think three times.. I am so groggy because of lack of sleep.. but its fine with me because that is a part of being a mother.. anyways your a fantastic grandma babysitting your grandson..

Oh yes, I went through those sleepless nights with my kids. My son was born with a hernial that the drs didn't catch until he was 3 months old. I spent those 3 months holding him, rocking him and carrying him around with me all day because unknowingly to us he was in constant pain! After surgery he was fine and finely started to sleep.

Well that was a nice surprise for you! They are so cute when they're sleeping..like tiny angels. He's a cutie too!
Ok, I'm not familiar with Dexter...what is it?
I sleep like that all the time so it's nothing new to me. I need to move so I can have some silence in the evening instead of the jerk above me playing his video games, and then going to bed and snoring so loud I can hear him. I'm constantly going from the bedroom to the couch and it's no fun at all.

Aw, that's so great that you babysat. He is so adorable by the way! =)
I have stayed up all night when I worked at a newspaper plant, we put the papers together all night long and the morning person delivered them. I felt like a zombie by the next morning thats for sure. I could have fallen asleep standing up I'm pretty sure! Lol. I did that on weekends. It was fun but very tiring.

That's great you were able to have some time with your ten month old grandson even if he was sleeping. They always look so innocent when they're sleeping don't they? Those baby monitors are very nice to have.
Well, you will get your sleep tonight, right? I have stayed up before all night when I was babysitting or when one of my kids were sick. I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore. Oh, and when I was awake the whole night, I was always so tired the next day with a major headache.

I went there early enough that I got to spend some time with him and enjoyed every minute with him. I had an awesome sleep last night and got up at 8am. That's a long sleep for me since I usually get up at 6am. I love to watch my grandson sleep on the monitor...even sleeping he's so darn cute!

It is so cool let a monitor keep an eye on the newborn baby, so you can do your own things. The baby is so cute!
