here's another idea for wwe creative and this one involves alberto del rio...

and the main idea is to push him as a baby face in the wwe against selected wrestlers. now, hear me out, i think alberto del rio is a good heel. not great like in the level of chris jericho heel or even randy orton heel but he is getting there. he reminds me so much of the million dollar man and even john bradshaw layfield. he even reminds me of the old hhh character... the rich aristocrat with chyna as a bodyguard. anyway, he has generated enough heat as a heel. he comes in expensive cars and even has his own ring announcer. however, we have grown tired of old rivalries and him being a baby face against established heels will be a good turn,an unexpected one at that, for the story lines that wwe has. i think we are already getting to see alberto del rio as a baby face... the start was his match against big show who is the biggest heel now (literally and figuratively). alberto del rio and sheamus, along with the whole smackdown locker room, ganged up on big show. i won't be surprised if we see a triple threat match between big show, sheamus, and alberto del rio for show's championship at the royal rumble pay per view. granted that it will be nice to see all three joining the rumble (all three are past rumble winners if i remember correctly), not having these three at the royal rumble event opens up three slots for deserving wrestlers. anyway, back to the topic at hand, it'll be great to have alberto del rio as baby face. he can have ricardo rodriguez join him as well as ricardo rodriguez is a hit with the kids. ricardo rodriguez can play the bubbling but loyal side kick. plus, been reading reports that randy orton will have another heel run and who better to be as his main rival than a baby face alberto del rio. remember, these two had a nice little rivalry ongoing a couple of months ago and they had a lot of decent matches. if del rio doesn't become an effective baby face, they can always switch him back as a heel. i think it will be interesting to see an orton-del rio rivalry with a twist... orton as the heel and del rio as the baby face. what do you think my fellow mylotters? looking forward to reading everyone's thoughts. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

Hi allen. First of all I want to ask you what do you mean by heel?? I see that you have used it so many times. But I wonder what it actually means. And about wwe. I used to watch it since last year. But then they stopped publishing videos on youtube. And it was also getting kind of boring. Even the variety of special matches was going down. Interesting characters like rock, mankind and edge are no more active. But still I was willing to watch it. But now that they are banning the videos on youtube, I think I will stop watching them altogether. Have a nice day... -=SuperShames=-

Yeah, I get your point. WWE is getting boring, and watching it makes me feel stupid. It's not that I don't like WWE, but I'll have to say that the new wrestlers have nothing special to be watched. Alberto del Rio is good though. But you can't compare him with the legends we had before. The Rock, Edge, Undertaker, HHH, HBK, Hulk Hogan, and many others were really interesting and passionate to watch. Whereas nowadays the wrestlers haven't got any style, variety, peculiarity, or handsomeness either. So we can say WWE sucks a little bit nowadays.

hi there supershames. heel in professional wrestling is a term that they use to describe the villains in a story line. they are the 'bad guys'. i understand your point. wrestling nowadays is a far cry from the wrestling that we had watched and grown to love back in the 90s and early 2000s. i think wwe has its own channel in youtube. perhaps you can try watching that. @ thekingman, perhaps in your opinion wwe is getting boring. you are definitely entitled to that. i can say that wwe ain't as 'bold' as they are back in the day. they are more pg-rated now. i agree that alberto del rio pales in comparison to those wrestlers that you mentioned but give him time and for sure he'll make his mark as well in wwe.

Hello everyone. So we all do agree hat the standards of wwe are going down in terms of entertainment and charisma factor. But I knew that at some point of time I will stop watching it. And I think that time has come. And they dont upload the videos of the current matches going on their youtube channel. Anyways have a nice day ...

Once a wrestler wins a coveted WWE championship or world heavy weight champions, it's not easy to beat him. Since he is now the current champion, I can't see Big show wining in royal rumble paper view. But veering to wwe championship, Rock vs CM punk is going to be quite interesting. Although CM Punk should win, but wwe board of directors may have other ideas, they may want Rock to win here along with John cena to have a perfect wrestle mamia match. In the end, everything is planned before hand. WWE raw is of 3 hours and there is a lot of obnoxious talking. So majority of Raw contains nonsense and now since Rock has returned to Raw, we have to listen to Rock's never ending speech in every episode.

hi there anilhclites. first off, welcome to mylot. stick by the rules and regulations of the site and you'll do just fine. for any questions or clarifications, feel free to contact the site admin or the more tenured members of the site and you'll see that the mylot community is a very helpful one. anyway, back to the topic at hand. i agree with you that alberto del rio dropping the title once again to big show in the royal rumble doesn't make much sense unless they make the del rio-big show rivalry a trilogy and alberto del rio drops the belt to big show and they meet again for a rubber match at wrestlemania. that would be a good one as we see an experienced giant and a 'young' 'upstart' mexican aristocrat headline wrestlemania. the other champiosnhip fight should be great as well. i see an epic match between the rock and cm punk and honestly, i don't want to see cm punk lose the title and i really want him to go all the way and be the longest reigning champion in wwe history by defeating bruno samartino's record. about the perfect wrestlemania match between the rock and john cena. i think wwe creative can set this one up without cm punk dropping the title to the rock. although the easiest way to have this match is for the rcok to win the championship match against cm punk and for john cena to win the royal rumble match. like i said, easiest way and kinda anti-climactic. about the three-hour raw and smackdown episodes, yeah, it cna be dragging and boring at some points. hopefully, wwe creative does something about this one. the episodes can last for only one hour and thrity minutes and still be interesting. thanks for participating and happy mylotting!!!

hi there anilhclites. like i said, rock winning the title from cm punk and john cena winning the royal rumble is the easiest way to set up the rock-cena wrestlemania match. back before the first match of these two superstars, it was reported that the rock-cena rivalry will be a trilogy. if i'm not mistaken, they had the first one the last wrestlemania and now this is the second match up. anyway, like what i wrote above, it is the easiest way and a very predictable one at that. anyway, i also wrote that i can see a way for the rock and cena to still meet at wrestlemania without cm punk dropping the title to the rock. it might be a long-winded one but let me try to keep it short and simple. anyway, here it goes... so we are in the tail end of the royal rumble and surprise of surprises, the rock actually is in the royal rumble match itself. he had joined the royal rumble as the last entry coming in at 30 to ensure his spot at headlining wrestlemania. he comes face to face with john cena and even though rock is the fresher superstar, john cena finally wills himself to win teh royal rumble. the rock doesn't take his lose well, coming back into the ring to give one hell of a beating to john cena. fast forward to the championship match between rock and cm punk. the crowd is clearly in cm punk's side after rock's outburst against john cena. it is a back and forth affair. punk hits the gts on rock but rock is able to kick out of the pin. rock recovers and hits the rock bottom on. he sets up for the people's elbow and from the crowd cena jumps into the ring to intercept the rock and hit him with flying shoulder block. cena isn't done yet, he picks up the rock and hits the attitude adjustment. he then locks the rock in a stfu. the referee calls for the bell and awards the win via disqualification for the rock. the title remains in cm punk's hands and he is still on his quest to beat bruno sammartino's record. wrstlemania ends with the image of the rock locked in the stfu hold by cena with cm punk in the background clutching his precious belt. on to the first raw episode after wrestlemania, we see john cena call out the rock. cena explains that he is tired of the rock coming into wwe like he still is the top draw of the show. cena says that HE is the top draw and the rock is a shadow of his former self. cena shows videos of his attack on the rock. the rock comes out and is clearly out for revenge. the rock said cena costs him his title. the rock mentions that he was suppose to win the title and not just the match. the rock said it doesn't matter if he didn't win the title at royal rumble, cena only delayed the inevitable. cena said that when he meets with cm punk and wins the title on wrestlemania he won't be giving the rock a title shot as long as he is the champion. the rock said that cena won't win the title much less have a title match against punk after he beats him up. cena said it won't happen. rock then challenges cena to a match at wrestlemania with the stipulation that if rock wins he gets the title shot that cena earned by winning the royal rumble and if cena wins, rock permanently walks away from the wwe and rock himself will proclaim cena as the people's champ and the most electrifying personality in sports entertainment. cena agrees and they shake on it... as for your other question, bruno sammartino had two title reigns. he first held the title for seven years, eight months, and one day. his second title reign was for three years, four months, and twenty days. this is from bruno sammartino's website. i can't recall the exact number of days that cm punk and paul heyman mentioned in one of their promos for wwe. either way, that is an impressive feat by bruno sammartino. about your suggestion on a undertaker-cena i quit match, i do think that it is a great idea. i know that cena nd taker feuded before when taker was in his 'big evil'/biker persona back in the day in smackdown. not sure how that feud started or how that ended but it is a good match-up. i see a potential trilogy for cena and undertaker. the first is an i quit match that you suggested (although not in wrestlemania as i hate to see taker's wrestlemania win streak end) which cena wins. the second match is a casket match which obviously taker wins and finally a last man standing match which again taker wins!!! obviously i'm a taker fan!!! anyway, as i type this the royal rumble is ongoing and we are into entry number 19 with john cena. he gets a good reception from the crowd and a beat down from the other wrestlers already in the ring. anyway, he eliminates slater and cody rhodes. number 20 entrant is damien sandow... go figure. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

Backend officials of Raw know the psyche of wwe universe..rock winning at royal rumble and cena winning the royal rumble and thus setting their rivalry at wrestlemania. But I know, this not going to happen. I too want CM punk defends his title at royal rumble and hence adding few more days to his championship. By the way what is record of bruno samartino. And since Wrestlemania is comming, Undertaker may make a poignant entry to raw. Truly speaking, I want to see Undertaker VS John Cena in a 'I Quit match'. Cena has never lost I Quit match and i can't see Cena saying those words. At the same time, Undertaker wants to continue his streak, I can't imagine Undertaker losing at Wrestllmani. I quit match can be a dream match for WWe Universe. What your say for this match Allen? Cheers...

you have great ideas allen! I like alberto del rio, even as a villain not like some which I really love to hate like Randy and Austin. Alberto del Rio turning face would be a good idea but not too good though kind of like an anti-hero thing would be more suited to his character--- like doing the right thing for the wrong reason.

hi there anaknitatay. first off, thanks for the kind words. i'm not monopolizing the well of great ideas... lol! i'm sure someone else has thought of the same. i understand your point about del rio being an (for the lack of a better term) 'inappropriate' baby face in wwe. for me, this makes sense since his pending triple threat rivalry with big show and sheamus is about to unfold at royal rumble and might well carry on until wrestlemania. if he comes into that triple threat match as a full-fledged heel, it wouldn't balance things out. anyway, wwe creative can always flip the switch and a simple act of backstabbing from alberto del rio will bring him back to heel status. thanks for participating and happy mylotting!!!

never really thought about that one capt but it does make sense. rey mysterio is injured and i think there were performance and wellness issues with sin cara. other superstars claim that sin cara sandbags in a lot of his matches and he is hard to work with. so making alberto del rio baby face while both rey mysterio and sin cara are out has its positives for wwe. i don't think we'll see albertod del rio teaming up with sheamus or john cena so soon. lol! cheers and happy mylotting!!!

wwe have no choice but to turn him face because all of their Mexican stars are injured and the mexican Market is important to wwe. Also people love Ricardo, they always cheer for him, even when Alberto was still a Heel. yeah I want Alberto to be more of an anti-hero face,I dont want him to be instantly becomes a BFF to John Cena and Sheamus just because he turned heel. He can be a loner type of Face, Ricardo is enough friend for him. I dont want him to be friends with every single face just because he turned face. I mean even in comic books, there are superheroes who are enemies.

Though I've never heard the word before, maybe I've figured out what heel means. Yeah, I thing what you're saying is true about the Alberto del Rio thing. He has got a little bit of style and glamor and a little bit of Italian accent too. But I don't think that if he is going to be the next big thing then WWE will be any interesting. There were such great legends who made WWE what it is now. The new guys are kinda bore. So my point is, who cares if Alberto del Rio is the next big thing. What's the use if they are going to make WWE boring. There are some good people though. I expect a lot from them. But WWE nowadays is letting us down, not favoring good wrestlers. John Morrison was good, WWE should've made him big but oh!

hi thekingman. like what i wrote above, heel in professional wrestling pertains to characters who are villains. alberto del rio packages himself as a mexican aristocrat. i think he comes across as a believable character. not the most original as we've seen similar characters before but certainly not as boring as well. i would say that alberto del rio although a far cry from the legends of wwe is definitely someone who the wwe can built a fan base of. anyway, i'm willing to give alberto del rio a chance and i bet that he becomes a future hall of famer. john morrison is a good wrestler. i do believe that he will be working again for wwe. been reading reports that he is currently in negotiations with the wwe management. i do agree that he is a good wrrestler. the guy has in-ring skills, he has an interesting personality, and he can cut a very good promo. i don't think he was full-utilized by wwe back in the day. he was good with mnm but he was better as a singles competitor. too bad he didn't reach his full potential. thanks for participating and happy mylotting!!!

hi there thekingman. yeah, the pg stuff really watered down some of the hardcore stuff that they were showing during the attitude era. completely understandable though. i'm a fan of the wrestlers that you mentioned... rey mysterio, sin cara, evan bourne, kofi kingston... all high-flyers and all high-octane wrestlers. sad to see though that evan bourne had issues with the wellness guidelines of wwe. he could have made quite an impact in the wwe had he reached his full potential. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

It's ok with the PG stuff. The WWE should add more agile and charismatic wrestlers. The kids love to watch them. Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara, Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston are entertaining to watch. Such stuff is too reduced these days.

The best way for Alberto to fully turn face should be him "losing his riches" The rich face gimmick didnt work for Ted Dibiase Junior, they can make Rosa Mendes seduce him and make him sign a paper not knowing that paper is a contract of him giving all his money and riches to Primo and Epico. ---- I think a rich face gimmick may work if they will show him doing charities, or maybe on his entrance he will make kids sit on his expansive car. ---- by far being nice to Ricardo works for him.

hi there capt. i agree with your statement. the rich face gimmick didn't work for ted dibiase jr. same thing with triple h who ditched the hunter hearst helmsley character when he founded degeneration-x with shawn michaels. your idea about alberto del rio losing his riches to rosa mendes, primo, and epico is an interesting one. not so sure how the fans will take it though because it would seem that alberto del rio was duped by rosa, epico, and primo. i think alberto del rio should hold onto the rich gimmick becauce it seems that the fans still embrace him as a face even when he is 'rich'. good point about getting kids ride with del rio in his expensive cars during his ring entrance. that would work well. nice that you brought up ricardo. ricardo seems to cross over well with the fans with this face turn for del rio. more than being a valet, ricardo can be the faithful friend, a tonto to del rio's lone ranger character. cheers and happy mylotting capt.

hi there capt. i agree with the car gimmick... i really think he shoudl keep it. alberto del rio being friends with sheamus... i think it makes sense against big show and dolph ziggler. remember the old adage, 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend...', so that one makes sense. i don't think alberto del rio will be made into a john cena. he doesn't fit the bill. anyway, i do hope wwe flips the switch again and makes alberto del rio a heel again. i can say him being more like cm punk or randy orton. the heel that is liked by fans. thanks for participating and happy mylotting!!!

awww they get rid of the car and he is now best friend with sheamus, so much for having a classy anti-hero. The Mexican colored balloons after the match is epic though. I hope they wont make him Cena like.

I think your idea is good. I love the way Randy Orton handles himself as a villain than a babyface. I guess its also tiring to see Del Rio always being the heel and in the past weeks of rivalry with the Big Show he is starting to be the babyface. Lets wait and see if the idea of yours will happen in WWE.

Yes, you are damn right. Orton look extremely dangerous as a heel. I still remember Legacy. Orton took apart the whole McMahon family. He was ruling the roost and suddenly he became babysitter and that had not paid rich dividends to Orton. Just saw Rumble match, feel sorry for BigShow, the way he lost the match. Have a nice day

Orton, in real life is really a bad boy so i think its just natural for him to be a villain. He's the only villain in WWE that i love! though he didnt win the royal rumble match fans are still happy to see him as part of it...cant wait for WRESTLEMANIA..

I don't like Del Rio, he is a good wrestler and he's got some cool moves but I just don't like him. I'm also tired on Cena being the hero, I know it mirrors his real life but its just getting old. They need to do something in 2013 and since the NFL will be done in January and MLB won't start until April they have a few months to really capture new fans.

hi there gitfiddleplayer. to each his own my friend... to each his own. i'm the first to admit that initially i didn't like alberto del rio's character but i've seen him improve in the ring and he has cut very good promos so i got to like the adr character. +1 on cena always being the hero in matches. i agree that cena winning despite the odds offers a feel good feeling but it can really be tiring when done over and over and over again. agree about your assessment on wwe needing to get new fans. their fan base is wide and large but for any business to continue to thrive, they will need a new source of income and these new fans are it. thanks for participating and happy mylotting!!!
