Wow, 114, I wonder what her secret is, it's strange isn't it that certain people get to live to grand old ages, it's not often you hear about 100 year old people. In our country if you reach 100 you get a telegram from the Queen.

Certainly in the Mediterranean areas where olives grow in abundance people are living a lot longer, the key ingredient seems to be the sun and 'olives' Both of which I don't like LOL

I might reach at that age when I am getting old or grumpy. Its a milestone for that age. I do not know in the Philippines if we have that some are 90 years old plus here.

That proves that more and more people are living longer these days. I see more reports about people being well over 100 years old. Maybe we will make it longer.

I think the eldest here (the Netherlands) is a lady. She lived till the age of 99 on her own farm. Now she is staying at an elderly home. She became 110 years old at Oct 22, 2012. As I understand Française Jeanne Calment (1875-1997) was the oldest person. But it might be: Mariam Amash as well. Born 1888. She did know her year of birth but not the date so the family (10 children and 300 grand(grand)children) did celebrate her birthday at the end of the year. Isn't it amazing? I doubt if it's great to get that old. For most of us this will mean that we have lost all the people we once know. But also imagine how much the world has changed since then.

Isnt that something. Im just 34 years old and to think of living another 50 years would be something. They must really eat well, and take care of themselfs..
