I found the peppermint extract at Walmart today, it took me about 20 minutes to find it on the shelf. I am going to try it tonight in my hot chocolate. I don't know if it will taste the same or not. It was only $2.38 for the little bottle.

I keep a bottle of peppermint extract in my purse for those times when I have a craving and I can't fight it. Peppermint is suppose to be good for fighting cravings. Just a small whiff, and it's all good. I love peppermint anything though. Peppermint candles, peppermint mocha, peppermint candy. Delicious!

lol..no. Cravings for food. It's suppose to send messages to your "appetite" that you are full and you don't need anything to eat.

I use peppermint for my digestion, and when I have gas. I didnt know there was an extract, I normally use tea. It is good in hot chocolate, as I am not a fan of straight tea.

Be careful how much you use. That stuff is pretty strong. I would start with a few drops.

But I will use the little bottle up, it's not bad. But nothing I would drink regularly. I think I might just order the one from online, once I get my earnings next month.

I do the same thing! I use different extracts, including the mint, in my hot mochas. And I also buy them at Walmart since they are much cheaper than McCormick in the grocery stores. But I like a bold taste, so I use a whole teaspoon in one cup. Oh yeah, perks it right up! I also use rum, coconut, maple, coffee (yes, there is a coffee extract), orange, almond, vanilla nut, and even peanut butter (a little strange, but not bad). A different flavor every night!

I only saw almond, mint, and maple. I was looking at the maple one. But thought I would try it next time, I think the coffee flavour would be good, or peanut butter as well.

Let me know how it works. I might like to get some. I like to experiment.

It didn't taste like I wanted too, I think the syrup will do the trick. It wasn't bad I will use it up, but it sort of overtook the hot chocolate in my opinion.

I use it when I make brownies, adding the extract to the frosting with crushed oreos. I have never had it with hot chocolate.
