Planning my new garden

The one thing I missed from moving from y last house to an apartment is my garden. I had a huge property with lots of fruit trees and shrubs and a veggy garden. Now that I bought another house which only has a small yard I'm planning my new garden. I want something low maintenance and don't have too much room but I'm thinking lots of raspberries and strawberries. I'm looking for honey berries which don't seem very common here so hoping I can find that.

Now that will be adjustment you have to make in your new apartment and you will surely miss that beautiful huge garden from your old house but to gain something you have to lose something. Glad that you found some space for gardening in that apartment also because something is better than nothing. So enjoy your gardening.

I've read that raspberries and strawberries don't get along, that one will kill the other, so I've made sure mine aren't too close together. (I have a small yard, too.) You could do container gardening, or make some raised beds along the fenceline.

I love the idea of gardening, though I have no experience. The few times I have tried to grow easier plants, it did not go to well. I tried carrots from seeds, transplanting pepper and tomato plants, and varied flowers. Though the location and the time of the year I am sure hoad a lot to do with it.Our new house has a seperated garden in the back, though it looks as if it might of been a season or two since anyone has used it. I am hoping to grow a few veggies; things my family will actually use. I have been hoping to find some other things that do not require a lot of constant attention, since my son requires that as well, and I am doubtful he will be too interested in it for long.

I love gardening and farming. That is really wonderful and good especially when harvest time comes. Good luck on your gardening!
