So about a year or so ago I've been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Which means I have an overactive thyroid. For the longest the doctors have been trying to get my thyroids leveled out and at the correct levels and getting me on the correct dosage so they can keep me on that dosage for awhile and see if my thyroid can correct itself and just go back to normal. I was discussing this with a friend of mine at my old job. Anyway, I went to the doctor like a week or two ago and they had to check my levels again to see where my thyroid is at and once again my thyroid levels have gone under and now I'm underactive. It has been going up and down like this throughout the whole diagnosis. When they first found out I have thyroid issues they said I was overactive and then they've been messing around with the miligrams on the medicine trying to get my levels right. Its so frustrating cause its just not getting leveled out or anything. So like I said a moment ago my friend and I were discussing and she was wondering maybe if I start eating healthier and eating fruits and veggies and eating all the right foods will it help get my thyroids at the right levels. I mean cause basically I haven't been eating healthy all even after I got diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Anyway, I'm asking this because I want to try everything I can before the doctors make the next decision on what to do. And that decision is to kill my thyroid by taking a pill with radiation in it and it'll kill my thyroid. Basically my husband neither I want to go that step and basically the doctors want to do this because they said I will have an underactive thyroid and that one is much easier for them to handle and get leveled. I really don't want to do that and having radiation in my body I don't know its kind of scary. But anyway, I think the reason they are trying to rush it too, is because my husband and I would like to start trying to have a baby again which right now the doctors don't want us to because of my overactive thyroid. So that is on hold. The other option would have an operation and have my thyroid removed, which they don't want to do is because they said I'm still young. So what is everyone's thoughts on this, will eating healthier help my thyroid at all. I mean even if it didn't at least I'll be healthy and lose the weight I want to lose. Which is a plus side. But has anyone else have this and does anyone think that eating healthier will help me out. Thanks.

Eating healthier food will surely help any person with a health condition. However, there are other factors which may lead to the increase or decrease of your thyroid hormones. One of them is stress. Manage your stress well and take as much rest as you can. My husband's SIL also has the same issues like you have and the fluctuation of her hormone level is caused by stress and lack of sleep.

I have definitely heard that keeping my stress down and resting up will definitely help out. I know through the past few months I've been losing sleep and have been stressed out because of work. I will definitely have to keep an eye on that as well. Thanks for the tips.

Thank you for the info I did a bit of research also, I think maybe cutting back on certain foods and adding healthy foods to my diet and start taking my vitamins again, may help out a lot. All I can do is try and see what happens. Thanks for the info I read through it and actually will try some of the things that it mentioned in the articles.
