the easy choice

For Girl Scouts they are participating in World Thinking Day and the country picked for one of the groups was France. Well the leader has it in her mind that we are making crepes. For one you'd have to make them as needed because they are not the grandest cold. Two I think that's too much work. I had mentioned to another Mom that Nutella on French bread is a fairly common breakfast plus it would be easier to do. Why make the booth more difficult than necessary?

Crepes will make more money for the group than Nutella on bread would. For one, they can charge more. For another, more people will want to buy crepes. It may be more work, but I think that the crepes actually are a good choice. People will be willing to wait for the crepes to be made, and it doesn't take that long to do it.

Yes but this is world thinking day for girl scouts the only people going to the booths are the kids (ages 5-12), some parents, and it's a FREE event. The food would be a sample not a meal so there would be NO profits to be made from this.

Then, I can sort of see your point. However, having eaten quite a few crepes, I can say that they don't take too long to make. So, even though it isn't the easiest route, it won't require as much time and effort as you fear.

I hope not as I haven't made them myself. I was thinking something more child friendly was in order. My kids had Polish crepes and wouldn't touch them... even though it's a simple pancake with a fruit filling and whip creme.

Are they doing this as a fundraiser or is this just booths where the food is going to be given away for free? If this is something that is being done as a fundraiser, then I think that they should do crepes because of the fact that would be something that would be a bigger seller. However, if this is something that is going to be given away for free, then I would say to go with the Nutella and bread. However, the problem with Nutella is that there are a lot of people that don't like it and it is also nut based so it could cause allergy issues as well.

No not a fundraiser just given for free. I suppose I can see that issue with nut allergies being an issue alot more than when we were sprouts.
