I had my new job, it was well interesting. More laid back, I worked the till and the owner was rather happy I picked up on it. I got on the till, the set up is a lot difference than my other workplace, but I think I did alright, I know majority of the products, and inormation needed. I get a key tomorrow as well, and I am still a little confused with the closer (well the till part).

You made on the first shift...lots more to come! Well, just have the much needed rest whenever you can. When you love what you do, you'd sure be staying a long time.

Yes, you are right. I didn't mind my last job either, just the manager. Which is why I got my other job.

Well i'm glad your first shift went very well. It's always hard adjusting to a new place but atleast the owner was happy with your progress that's a plus.

It is especially if you've beeen at a job for a number of years. I know when I went from my last job where I was at it 8.5 years to this past one, it was a big change.

I am sure you will catch on fast. So you will be a key carrier able to give over-rides and the such?

This sounds like a promising job then. I hope you can grow with it and perhaps make it worthwhile. Oh and to your post on status, I posted a discussion about it here. I didn't want to go into full detail of it on fb.

I hope it is, now I am trying to find some small jobs on the side. I am still not sure what I will do come next fall, when my seasonal job ends. I saw that discussions, I was wondering on Facebook thought maybe you go in trouble, or something happened with your job.

Yep, by the end of next week I will be by myself working. I am also getting more hours while he is on vacation (I work today 1-6, Wednesday 2-6, Friday 4 -8, Saturday 2-6, then Wednesday Thursday 3 -8, Friday 4 -8, Saturdaay 9-6. I am not sure after that though as that is while he is on vacation. But he asked me if I would do the truck for him as well in the other town.

Sounds like you did well. Each store has its own system of doing things, so it can't be expected for you to be perfect the first day. But I'm sure you will be soon.

I think I just have to get use to their system. I know he wants to have me trained before he goes on hollidays in a few weeks, as I will be alone in the store.
