What is Nothingness? (poem)

What is nothingness? No money? No love? No stable career? No inspiration? No motivation? No drive? No one to talk to Every end of the day No one to greet Every waking day No midnight chuckles No teasing times No waiting hours On moonlit dine Nothing to spend On a weekend sale Nor a little to watch A favorite tale Not even to buy That Payless display Or even to try on That little black gown No extra to go On a trip to the islands Nor a penny to go On a trip to the highlands No one to call To cry on sleepless nights Nor any one to date On dancing lights Befriending aloneness On a dull chilly room Partnering silence On a late night gloom Just the moon and the stars Bring delight to the heart While it is free Yes, no fee, the array. YET. What this heart longs Is temporal What this mind seeks Are mortals When happiness is fallen To a wanted face Of anyone dreamed To him, that I dream I dare say WAIT I dare say PRAY Yet How when replaced My love for a King And how when ignored My glory to Him Who’s highest of all And worthy of all The kindred, I speak Forgive me, my Lord When everything is wrong When my thoughts befall To an everything that’s wrong When I seek out the one That everything can give Oh that my heart asks Of everything that’s fake But nothing It is nothing he is nothing The Lord, He alone He alone is He Who fulfills the heart With the longing so deep Who completes the hole That’s created with it Who satisfies the soul With a want I can’t keep Who gives to a Nothingness Nothing less Than everything That He is. He is Everything In my nothingness.

It is always interesting to see how the author interrupts their own work.

I agree, this is well written. Your thoughts are worth sharing. Thank you for sharing and inspiring us whom to cling on in the midst of our nothingness. HE indeed is everything in my nothingness too. God bless!
