When They Die or Become Ill

I don't know why sometimes hearing about certain famous people getting really ill or dying affects me. Now, I don't spend time worrying about it, because it's not like they are my family. But you know, sometimes you just feel sorrow. Valerie Harper, who was Rhoda on the Mary Tyler Moore Show as well as on her own spinoff announced she had terminal brain cancer the other day. And she only has months to live. I just read Kelly Osbourne had a seizure on the set of her show Fashion Police and was rushed to the hospital. She's not dead. I don't want to freak any of her fans out. I just kept thinking, she's so young. She fought through drug abuse and weight issues - I just hope she's all right.
Do you feel more sadness when a person who is ill or has died is directly linked to your childhood? Neither one of these people I mentioned were involved in my television life as a child, but I guess they come across as likable people. I just wish them both the best.

I cried when Michael Jackon and Whitney Houston die. Both are my favorite singers and it feels that they were singing for me
. When the person who is celebrity die or ill is attached to my childhood times it will make me feel sad cos they are part of mylife when I was a child.

I feel sadness for celebrities if they are from my youth and I liked them, or I just like them now like Kelly Osbourne. I hope she will be alright. She didn't really have a good childhood. I wrote about her. And I always adored Valerie Harper.

I heard about Valerie and it breaks my heart because she always seemed so full of life and since she hasn't been in the spotlight for years, I still see her as a young and vibrant young woman.

I really loved watching Valerie Harper on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and knowing she is really sick makes me sad. I know there is only so much medical doctors can do today and she will be missed by so many people. I wasn't a child when Valerie was on, but feel more sadness when an actor affected my life. The Mary Tyler Moore Show let women know we could be successful women with or without a man and have a great life.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that these people were or are a part of our lives, even if we never knew them personally.
I was shaken by the news of her cancer, too. I loved The Mary Tyler Moore Show and thought Rhoda was a hoot. Plus, my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer after it had entered her brain from her lungs, just as Valerie Harper's has. I don't like to think about it but my mother was initially given 3 months to live but it spread so fast that she didn't even make it a month. Still, I read that Ms. Harper is having chemotherapy so maybe she'll be around a bit longer.
She is an incredibly inspiring person. Her positive attitude is amazing and I wish her as much happiness and peace as she can have in her last days.

Hi AmbiePam I too feel so sad when we hear bad news about our loved celebrity's. I am so sad for Kelly Osbourne she sure has had to overcome many trials, I hope she gets better her parents must be in shock, that is who I aways feel sorry for is the families in these situations.
