I was transferred in a slower computer....ughhhh

Oh good afternoon to everyone.
Work work work but my network connection in my computer don't work properly. I can't access in our system even though it shows that I am connected. I always have to restart my pc to get connected again in the server yet still got disconnected afterwards, my systme will hang trm eventually connection will be disabled.
I reported it to our MIS dept to look for the problem so I was transferred in another pc/work station for the meantime to do my works. No problem with since I could continue what I am doing but it am quite irritated cause the computer where I transferred is too slow. It always takes time before I open the accounting system and takes times again when going and doing some transactions. It really irritating sincey work is getting slower the fact that I am in hurrying to finish some things that are needed by tomorrow.
I do hope that my computer will fix right away so I could get back again into regular programming.

Good thing you actually have fast computer. I am stuck with almost 5 years old computer. Now if I need to process 1 year data, it is very very slow...
Just be patient for your computer to be fixed. For me I need to wait the computer to be broken then I get a replacement.

Yeah quite lucky enough that we do have spare one now. We do have the same agony before in our office. It would really takes time or few years before the computer will be replace even though it cannot perform that well and so so slow. Our management are also like that before wherein we have to wait till our pc get broken before replacing. But it really affects our work which resulted to some delays.

My mother had the exact same thing happen to her at work not too long ago. Her computer got a virus on it and that meant that none of the programs were installed on the computer were accessible to her. Well, they told her to work at another work station for most of her tasks and then for those tasks which were not installed at the other work station she had to go to yet another work station in order to get her work done. Why is it that IT cannot work quicker in businesses like this when their equipment has a problem.

I dont know as well if sometimes they cannot attend to the problem right away or even detecte the problem. Maybe they still doing some prior things or problems to be done. I do hope that it will be get fixed since I really need some files in my computer and I could really do fast in my station.

Ouuuch that's bad
When we depend doing our work on computer we will always wish that the computer we use is in good condition. May be you should tell your supervisor or manager if they could change the hardisk or doing some upgrade, it does not need a lot of money and sometimes it's free if you have friend who know about computer. It's irritating indeed when you used to finish the work in 30 minutes but now it takes you 2 hours

I have already reported it in our IT department to get it fixed immediately. They already checking it out if what seems to be the problem and hopefully it will be ready to use by Monday. For the meantime I have to work in other workstation to finish things that I have to be done.

Hi ardoy!
It's sad to know that you are having problem with your computer. However, its better that you have spare computers in your office which you could use in times like this.
You are far better than my situation. Do you know that we don't have computer in our office? It's good that I have my own laptop so I bring it always with me. But supposedly, it is the obligation of the agency to provide their employees with the things needed for work. But it's okay with me. What is important is that I have my job.

Oh at least I am using spare one even it is quite slower. Its really hard if you dont have computer and just do things at work manually.

Oh yes quite irritating if it consumes much time in just single transaction to do. I still have to wait till the new one appears then wait again for it to be posted but yet still no choice. Better than just sitting doing nothing while waiting for my computer to be fixed. For sure I be having more pending works if I do that.

oh it is so complicated to use slow computers you have to wait for a long time before you can actually do something good. Try to get another soom or if you cannot solve this, it is a hard life...

Well quite complicated a bit since i am not used to that kind of speed but have no choice as of the moment. I just hope that my computer will be fixed so soon and can be use by Monday.

oh good that your company have spare computers for you to use. usually its not available for us to have such. when our pc had problems we are given free time to slack off but then the problem is when we get the fixed pc we'd be full of works left. hayz.

Oh yeah we do have this one spare computer in the office in case one of our computers in not working properly. I hate it when my pc is having some problems since it delayed some of my works especially of the files that I have to use is ng my hard drive.

Sucks to have such slow system! Good thing you can still do your work. sometimes, I would have a problem with my office computer too. It would suddenly just shutdown on its own. Especially when there's a lot of task to do. I guess CPU already needs some dusting off!

Oh yes its really annoying if the pc shut down all of a sudden in the middle of work. Then you are doing something in a worksheet when it shut down yet still no save what we are currently doing. It happened to me onced wherein I have to so it over again. Now I used to save what I am doing most of the time right away to avoid such scenario happened again.
