got my first earnings from CheckPoints

On another forum they were discussing this app and I thought what they hey! It's the slow time of year still for my work and has started slowing down for hubby's work and every lil bit will help tward something right? So in about a week I earned enough points to get two $1 amazon gc's on my way to a third. I thought this is pretty speedy compared to alot of programs out there even moreso it's legit! I got hubby to join and he thinks he's saving up for a Best Buy card to buy a flat screen tv.... I think he's got a very long time to wait for such a lofty goal! I'm just glad it's legit and paying as we've all gotten burned at one point or another with various programs. I was hoping to put a banner up but I guess our profile no longer supports those? Oh well.

It's kinda like swagbucks in a way but on a much smaller scale. But it's something you might enjoy Kat and there's another like savings star but I haven't played with it too much as it deals with brand name stuff mostly. I resent you an invite.

You just "check-in" to places that it lists and collect the points. You don't literally have to be at the place. Or atleast for me I don't as I am off of a highway with quite a bit of shopping and businesses around I've got a dozen I can select from sitting in the house, but the selections change as you surrounding area changes. But on one of the first stores listed on your list with a gold lit up star and points listed next to it if you go into the store shopping they want you to locate the couple of featured items and scan the barcode with your phone/camera once it reads the bar code you get credited points for finding the item. Then of course you can watch the video clips for a point that are like 30 seconds. You can try using your scrach off points like a lotto ticket for points as well.
I just cashed out my 3rd today, though I noticed it's now an extra 35pts now for amazon/dollar

Since this is an app, I guess it's only for phones? What does it do? (I don't have a cell phone, so my question is purely academic.)

It's an app for a smart phone. It does the gps thing locates businesses around you and you can scan products they feature for points or for "checking in" or downloading apps.
