Getting Started with Writing a Book

It's the proverbial holy grail for aspiring authors--publish a book. I actually started years ago, but I haven't been able to produce a complete manuscript. Actually, I haven't produced half a manuscript. Not even a third really. Okay, okay. I haven't produced zilch. Of course, I managed to write a high school textbook or half of it last year. But I don't really consider it getting published. I want to publish a book and have it selling at Amazon.com. That to me is my idea of getting published. I think it's about time. And I think I need to shove myself and not just push to get me moving forward. Anybody here who agrees with me that I should start writing a book, please raise your hand.

Go for it!! It's a lot of work to get it right, even if you self-publish, but it's definitely worth it to see your name on Amazon. Honestly, it still freaks me out that there are people somewhere in the world who've read my book(s)... and that I have no idea who they are. A very weird feeling, I can assure you!

A published book is every writer's dream. When I was in my freshman year at the university, I thought I would be able to publish my very own book before I turn 25. Ten years later, I haven't even attempted publishing my poems and short stories online. My friends tried to encourage me but I don't have the guts. In your case, I assume that you have written tons of blogs and online articles already. If you think that the feedback you are getting from netizens and your family and friends is encouraging enough for you to write a book - go ahead write that dream book. Getting support from immediate family is a key to every author's success. If you have that, go for it. Who knows, you might be a household name before you know it.

I was thinking of writing books too. Have not started anything yet. Yesterday I started reading the contents of a book called "How to get Your Fiction Book publish". I need to start from somewhere. Since you have started, go and publish it. Be the one you want to be. Wish you every success and hope to meet you signing autograph on your book.

Yes. If you want to publish a book, you just start it now. I have auntie who published her own book but, her book is not that famous. When I was a child, I want to publish my poem but, all of it was gone because someone borrowed it from school and she never return it to me.

If you really find enjoyment in reading, and you have the talent for it, go for it! Well, it's funny to hear this advice from my mouth... as someone who has about at least 20 novels started, with none finished (oh, I had one finished at about, but that went away when my computer crashed, so that doesn't count :D). I would have to work hard to have at least a manuscript finished...
