How do I stop this / myLot

My son is two, and he is the sweetest little guy. But we are starting to have an issue with him. It has only happened 3 times so far but if he is supper tired and his older sister bugs him he will bite her. Lucky for everyone the 2 or 3 times it has happened he did it through her shirt. Twice he left a mark. The third time we don't know if he bit her or if she just said he did there was no mark. He knows its wrong and has looked at me and said he was sorry he bit sissy and even kwent and apologised to her, and kissed her boo boo. I think he just gets so overwhelmed with his emotions he doesn't know what else to do. Anyone else have experience with a biter? Any suggestions. My lovely mother in law says bite him back. I really don't think I want to do that

At two, he only has limited learning abilities. He may not completely understand what is good or bad. So patience and constantly reminding him that it is something that he should not do will help retain that in his mind.

I couldn't agree more, my husband seems to think otherwise and I've been trying to explain that to him.

I think his actions was been instilled to him when he was younger. Like maybe someone from your family shows the same emotions (happy/sad) and give that kind of gesture, that's why he copied it. Just be firm while reprimanding him on doing such action. Over time he'll be able to grasp that what he did was wrong. He is still young then, to understand.

I don't think it's been instilled in him from our actions. We don't bite each other lol and there is not hitting each other here. We hug and kiss a lot and there must be a million "I love yous" in this house. I don't understand what you could mean by that. My oldest is 4 and we never had a biting issue with her.

I had the same problem. doing my children and when they bite and saw that it was good he stopped doing it. svekarvati think is right. It is one of the solutions. Yet to bite him but not very hard to do just a little hurt. success.
