I think, in my country, Indonesia, most of student go to school just for getting certification and get good job. I rare see they are actually love with knowledge and want to develop the knowledge. They go to school just for fulfill qualification of get good job after they finished their study. What about student in your country? Please you share here...Thank you,

Hi mbak Sahara, actually I am not allowed to join this discussion, right? Because you and I have the same country. Since you write "what about student in your country?.." Maybe I just share my opinion about the condition of education in our country. I think so, that there are some students who study because of the certificate only. Especially for those who had had the prestigious job. They continue the study only for requirements to support their job. But I think still there are a number of students who can get good achievement and they get scholarship abroad. Yeah maybe only a few part of such students

Hi,
Here in my country India also students take education for getting good job. Everybody wants to have good career and progress in future. While taking education in schools and colleges knowledge is developing automatically. But I think in any country there is no one student who is going to school only for getting knowledge.

Here it is the same. I come from China. Students study hard here just to get a good certification. Since it will relate their job and therefore it concerns about whether they have a bright future or not. They study and learn not for the pleasure or self-improvement. Somewhat you can say it is for the profit.

Maybe this symptom has influence around the world, they go to school for a good certification for good job and they work hard for money. It mean they study and work for money. Whereas, most of great men that love knowledge and money come to them.

Education serves two purposes – educate the young to prepare them for their future careers and nurture the love for knowledge. Sadly, sometimes, it’s just or the other for some students. For those taking education for the sake of a job, it is understandable since it is a way to learn the trade. There will a lot of knowledge and training in the working years but education starts the base. Even in the course of time, it might still engage students to learn more about what they are going into. Of course, it still depends on the student’s goals and attitudes towards education – whether it is a tool for the future or a catapult to discover how the world works.
Actually, the same situation and sentiments is the same in my country.

Same here. In our country most of the people are interested in increasing their qualification to get a good job with reasonable salary. Very few persöns are studying to improve their knowledge. Most of the people are thinking that going to college and getting degree will help them to get a good job, but they are wrong, some great degree holders don't have a proper job and searching a lot for it. Our degree will help us to increase our knowledge and we must be up to date in various fields to get a good job.

Yes, you are right. If all student just to graduate and get certificate, our education will drop down and knowledge will drop down too. I think it is very sad.

Most of what is essential will never be learned inside the school srisahara, i learned that myself. I learned more when i started working and being able to experience it on hand..it is entirely different from inside a school where all you have are words and theories...
but unless you are taking law, those theories and laws are something you need to memorize!

I went to school not just for the certificate, but also because I loved the subject matter. Some people join subjects for which they have no love because from childhood,we have been taught that we should become successful in life, we should earn a lot of money. Therefore, most students take subjects which would give them a good job and good pay.
