Sadly, Roger Ebert film critic for the Chicago Sun Times has passed away from cancer. He reviewed films for 46 years and even when I didn't agree with him I always respected his opinion. He was only 70 years old and the last few years were hard for me to see this man that helped me pick out a movie for so many years be so sick.
I was always happy to watch him on television or read about his movie renews in a magazine or online. He has so fan Twitter Followers and he really enjoyed being online in our changing times. I'll miss reading movie reviews from him.
Did you read Roger's Movie Reviews?

Yes he did know a lot about movies and spent a lot of years writing about them. He spent his life time watching all kinds of movies. Thanks for posting.

His partner on the show passed at such a young age. He had young children and really felt bad for them. I know Roger lived a long time and was able to spend a lot of time doing what he enjoyed doing in life.

I miss the show and Siskel and Ebert were so good at telling us why to watch or not watch a movie. Its hard to know who I'm going to read to decide whether to view a movie today. I'll probably wait for movies to be on DVD more now and my library does have a lot of movies to check out now.

What a shame that a few days ago he was getting radition and now he gone. I didn't read is reviews I would listen to him on his show. I didn't always agree with him but he was still good at reviewing the movies. It is a shame what he went through the last years of his life. I could not believe that he was the same guy not being able to talk. I only hope he didn't suffer at the very end. May his soul rest in peace.

I hardly knew who he was after his surgery to his face. Its sad to know he lost his voice and went through so many surgeries. I'm not sure many of us would have been able to work the long hours he did writing while going through all the trips to the hospital. Thanks for posting.
