i am currently loving this show.. I am watching this since i kind of got tired waiting for BBC Sherlock to air again, and i did not regret it at all. it was different than the BBC one, since Watson is a girl, but Lucy Liu has good chemistry with Jonny lee Miller- they have a good and fun friendship. 
One should not compare it with BBC SHerlock though, although both are set in modern times, they are both unique and interesting in their own way.

I agree they shouldn't be compared to each other. I'll admit prefer the BBC, but agree the chemistry between Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller is great. Many shows just don't have it. The great news is Elementary will be back next season.

I don't think I have seen the BBC Sherlock you are talking about. I saw a couple of episodes of some Sherlock Holmes series that was originally was on in England on the Public Broadcast channel here in the U. S. but I don't think they were in modern times and I found them somewhat boring. But I really like Elementary and wanted to watch it from the start since I am a Lucy Liu fan ever since I first saw her on Ally McBeal a long time ago. It is hard to believe that she is 44 years old. I really like the approach that Elementary has taken to Sherlock Holmes and Watson characters.

Yes, she really aged well... i think she looked the same -10 years ago- it's amazing. 
I loved the BBC Sherlock- it had 2 season, 3 episodes each and each episode was like a movie long, 90 minutes.. but it was very engaging. I am watching Elementary and am enjoying it tremendously.. i hope they release the latest episode soon.

Yes, I have heard about the BBC version, but I do not get that channel. But when I saw the commercials for Elementary on CBS last fall I gave it a try. I really enjoy it. Jonny (he spells it different than most) Lee Miller is a hoot, and also charming. And this is a role I really don't see Lucy Liu normally play. She's quite a good actress because in real life she's very mother of the earth, new "agey" kind of person. I enjoy their friendship. And the writers have pretty much promised it will stay a friendship and that there will be no romance between the two.
