Decided On A Different Console Table

Some of you will know that I had my heart - initially - set on a black Urbaine Console Table that is mirrored with chrome trim. It had a matching hexagonal mirror too.
Anyway, John has some extra money to spend so I've been looking at alternatives. You see, the Urbaine only has one drawer and there is another one with four drawers that looks just as good. In fact, I like it more because it's higher. Yes, it's a bit deeper but I know we can get away with it in the hallway as I measure up the space in there all the time, to make sure anything we do get won't get in the way of us going upstairs.
Another good thing about it is it's cheaper (depending on who you get it from and whether or not there is a delivery charge..some don't charge for that at all) but, I'm hoping I can find it somewhere for less than £200. Yes, it's a lot of money but I promise you I will never get tired of it. Also, if we ever move we can take it with us.
I need to think of mirrors now!

Actually, that isn't too bad of a price--not if it is durable and is something that you will be using for years to come. It is better to spend the money on a good, durable piece than to go cheap and get something that will need replaced fairly quickly--not good from other a budgetary or environmental perspective.

That's a very good point! Some console tables are an absolute rip-off and, believe me, I've seen loads of them both online and in-stores. Ones I've seen in the flesh didn't even have soft-closing drawers, something I'd expect if I'm paying more than £200+.

Easier said than done. Believe me, I've tried but people want far too much money for their crap so I'd rather buy new than give them the satisfaction of ripping me off.

Does its description say it has 4 drawers? Sometimes it's one drawer made to look like four, and sometimes no drawer at all.
And what do you mean you can take it with you? Is the rest of your furniture nailed to the floor?

Yes, I do know what you're getting at and yes, it does have 'four, fully functional drawers' so, no need to worry on that point, thankfully.

Hello Janey. I have got a Mexican style console table and it is used as a desk. Above it I have some shelves. I like the look of the black console table. I believe one with four drawers would be more useful. I hope you find your ideal one and keep some money free to get some mirrors. Above my electric fire place I have got a mirror with a black edge around it.

Today and yesterday were a bit warmer however a bit showery. Yes, I think you know what my Mexican table looks like. My mirror is there to make my lounge look more spacious. A mirror above a fireplace can look charming I believe. Your home sounds wonderful my friend Janey.

Hiya maximax8, how's the weather been today? It's not been too bad here..and it's warmed up too. We've had rain but not loads of it.
Yes, I think I know which Mexican style table you mean, is it in pine? I've seen lots of it online and it's very nice.
I absolutely love mirrors. I don't particularly like looking at myself in them..I just like the fact they can give the illusion of space, that kind of thing. Yours sounds lovely.
