My Mother's 3rd Day Without Electricity

I wasn't on the phone with my mother for too lon, because she was expecting a call to get work for the rest of the week (she works asan on-call educational assistant for kids with special needs) but she told me that she still didn't have power to the house. They have a little generator that keeps one fridge going, and the sump pump so the basement doesn't flood (again). For whatever reason, they don't have water either. Something to do with the well, I guess. This won't be a problem for my father WAY up North, since he lives right on a lake, but Mom lives on a farm. No lake or river to be found. LOL I called her this morning and she wasn't home. The phone rang 9 times, so that was its own answer. Usually her answering machine picks up after 6 rings.
I couldn't see the power lines that well, but my husband told me the other day when the power was out, that the ice on the power lines was as thick as his wrist, and that he hadn't seen ice that bad since 1975 in CT. Hey, welcome to Canada! LOL

it's probably really cold and beautiful up there, if not for the power outages all the time.
