Went to visit my dad last weekend, and on the way back we stopped to see tigers. It was a private owner who had four of them, and he had them in not too large chain link enclosures. I'm not really big on private ownership of endangered animals, but my dad and the kids wanted to see them. The tigers were really affectionate to the owner, especially the large male. I posted the pictures on Facebook, and one friend asked why they were in such small enclosures. Said friend has gone vegetarian due to animal rights issues (she had seen a video from a chicken farm, and was pretty sickened by what she saw). This same friend eats egg and cheese and drinks milk. I have seen some pretty ugly videos of how the animals are treated at egg farms and dairy farms. Still, I'm not going to call my friend out on that one. Everybody is free to decide where they draw the line. But I'm not quite sure what I want to tell her about the tigers.
