This artless but color-coded scheme for labeling food items in a hospital canteen seems to have boosted customer's responsiveness to the healthiness of their food choices, together with boosting buying of the most healthy stuffs.
The October issue of Preventive Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital has reported that researchers describe customer reactions to surveys taken before and after putting into practice a scheme using green, red or yellow "traffic light" labels to mirror the nutritional quality of items packed inside.
