It is said that the small house surrounded by the large building belongs to a 84-year-old elderly person of no family, the market price of this small house is 180,000$. This small house needs pulling down to make room for the big new building, the real estate developer agrees to pay one million dollar to the old person as compensation to the small house, however the old person does not agree. So the design of the big building has been modified to what it is like now, the concave shape. And the developer has been taking care of the old person's life till his death. In his will, the old person bequeaths the small house to the developer. This story happens in USA, I know it from a blog. I want to know if it is true.

Yes, it is quite true. The house belonged to Edith Macefield who lived in Seattle in the USA. She turned down an offer of $1million for her small house and, instead, left the house in her will to the building's construction superintendent, Barry Martin, in gratitude for the friendship he had shown her during the construction.
