We're on a mission. Our nation needs more students who are college and career ready in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Engineers are critical to our world and to the way in which it works. But more engineers, and more kinds of engineers, are needed to address the challenges facing the 21st century. Be An Engineer is the first in a series of efforts, supported by ExxonMobil, to inspire students to pursue careers in STEM.
The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates the demand for professionals in several engineering disciplines—led by software and petroleum engineers—to continue to grow, with the addition of approximately 250,000 engineering positions over the next 10 years. Furthermore, college graduates with engineering degrees can expect relatively higher wages and low unemployment rates when compared to non-engineering peers.
Be An Engineer intends to build a greater understanding of the engineering field and the opportunities it offers.
Be An Engineer...where changing the world is part of the job description.
