Why is it that some people will get into the longest queue and then complain when people in front are taking so long? Example: Someone waiting for a cash machine and complaining because they were in a rush when the machine was the slowest one around anyway and they must have had to have gone past at least 2 machines to get to that one!

i don't really understand what you mean..i am sure that if they got the bad luck of choosing a very slwo machine it wasn;t on purpose..it happens to me too and i think it's the same for everyone, that when i am in the biggest hurry, nothing works well ..maybe it is just an impression, but everything seems much slower, time runs faster..you stubble..it's a reality

I know what you mean, things do seem slower when you are in a rush. What I mean is when, for example, you're in a shop and there are 3 checkouts open, someone wil choose the one with the most people and complain about it going slow when they could have gone to another one with less people. The example with the cash machine, the person had to have gone past 2 others which aren't used so much before getting to the one where there was a lot of people.

Some people like to have a reason to complain. These are generally unhappy people that just want to get some attention no matter what kind. I usually just ignore them and tune them out. If they try to talk to me about it I look at them blankly and they usually shut up.

Because they probably try and figure out what people in front are doing, I had the choice of standing behind one woman or 6 people, I chose to stand behind one woman, she took forever and I would've been served quicker standing behind the 6 people, I think 11 were served before this blummin woman had finished. Sometimes you need a specific machine, if you want a mini-statement or to deposit money and sometimes other machines aren't working, I've found that when one machine isn't working, most others aren't either, so everyone's forced to use the only one left.

Yes, I suppose people do sometimes need to go to a specific machine but I know the others were all working fine and surely if someone is doing anything other than taking out cash, they wouldn't do it if they were in a rush. I would always do stuff like depositing money and getting statements first before I do anything else so I know it's done. In shop queues, I don't look at how many people are there. The best queue to be in is one with mostly young to middle aged men because they will usually be the quickest. I try to avoid queues with old people and lots of children.

It's just part of human nature and we all like to have a good moan.

I think people just need something to complain about.

Simple reason is that they have no patience what so ever. People these days are always in hurry to go nowhere. They complain because venting helps their ego.

Yup, they probably just wanted something to moan about. It's annoying though, when I join the shorter queue and it ends up being even slower than the longest queue because everyone in front is paying by cheque or card, or the cashier is a trainee or something and doesn't really know what they're doing.

Some people are just like that.My youngest son is.There are only certain places he will go and things he'll use.He won't even use my bathroom at home if someone's in 'his'.He'll wait and complain about it the whole time instead.I've never figured it out,it's just the way he's always been.
