What is the specificity in 512 MB Ram ipad and 1 GB Ram tablet, which is good, I think 1 GB ram tablet works better than the 512 MB ram ipad. What about your experience about this and why? ipad is superior than to 1 GB tablet.

The more RAM a device has, the more data can be stored on it and the more space there is available for processing. In that sense, a device with 1Gb of RAM is inherently 'better' than a device with 512Mb. One of the other important considerations is the speed and capabilities of the processing chip (the CPU). The iPad has a fast CPU, custom designed to work optimally with the operating system, and excellent graphics (also custom designed to work with a particular OS). In addition, Apple have very strict policies about the design of apps to run on their operating system. All of this makes the iPad an excellent (but expensive) tablet. One of the big disadvantages of the iPad (in my view) is that the RAM you get with the tablet is (as far as I know) all you get: there is no ability to expand the memory by the addition of a memory card, nor is there the ability to add a Data SIM card. If you like Apple and are prepared to accept that you can only have what they provide in the way of software, then you will probably want an iPad. If you want some of the things that Apple doesn't provide (such as expandable RAM, ability to use mobile phone data connectivity and independent apps, you might choose an Android or, perhaps, a Windows tablet. The peripherals (camera, audio, screen resolution, GPS, compass, accelerometer &c.) can be just as good or better, depending on what you pay, you can expand the RAM and, in some cases, can use GSM and the comparable prices are somewhat less.

@Unforgettable_Raja That's what I thought. I can't understand why Apple don't allow expansion!

@yugasini My grand-daughter, too, has insisted that she needed an iPad. I am not convinced. I think that Android is superior to Apple in many cases (depending on price and the facilities required, of course - there are some things which are only compatible with Apple software.)
