I am a picture taking fanatic. I take WAAAAY to many pictures. And then I put them all on shutterfly to make sure I have them 'backed up' somewhere. Then I print some of them and put them in photo albums.
With ZJ's arrival I wanted to get some pics printed, and I went to shuttefuly and realized I havent uploaded anything since 2013! I am over a YEAR behind. SO I've been uploading pictures and it's taking me HOURS.
Must never get this behind again!

I too have a passion for photography as I have enough subjects just under my nose - Preiti our pet, birds in the garden, flowers and fruit trees.
I have so far not printed out any and not even organised them in folders which is a shame, really.

I've said to people that we seem to have so many more pictures nowadays than we used to, but none of them will still be around n 50 years becuase we lose them as we change devices and what not.

@MakingCents I thought I had lost a folder when some formatting was being done. I cried but I saw the folder in a far away D folder which was a folder that was from a fragmented disk (lol)

@MakingCents Huh. My photo libraries are some of the first ones that I back up and restore when I change devices. I have redundant backups, too: external hard drive, CD/DVD, and now I've started keeping some of them in the cloud for convenience.

Well if your photos are good you can go sell them on stock photo sites and earn some money on the side.
Wish I could buy my own camera.

@MakingCents Hey why don't you try and submit some? As long as you have a DSLR camera and you read their FAQ/Guidelines, you should be good to go. It can be another source of income on the side.

Do you have to upload ALL of them? I would check through as I go and get rid of some that aren't a good view or you have several of. It is surprises me how mainstreaming and getting rid of some things is powering and gives me a really good feeling. I would advise you to set small goals and do it daily for a certain amount of time until you have it handled.

@MakingCents Yes, you can also store videos there as well. And documents.

It is so easy to get behind!
I seem to have waves of organisation and then waves of not.
Yes it is a slow process backing up but we must do it.
Happy uploading.

I have intentions of being super organized. Alas, that never really comes to fruition!
