one guy cost three hundred jobs!

hello Lotters, I've hated our public transport here in our cities, were some drivers can be rude and lack of road discipline which cause terrible accidents and cost lives of passengers. There had been so many accidents and Bus companies licenses suspended because of drivers not being responsible of their jobs. Some drivers instead of surrendering, they ran away and hide until the hype subsides. But this really takes the cake for me, a bus driver got jailed because of an accident that killed four people. Worst from that, He was new on the job and tested positive for Drugs. Every one started whining about him supposed to be the only person punished not all 300 of them.

Bus drivers are careful and responsible here. I do not remember to have seen an accident with a city bus. When I go for a ride with my bike in the countryside, I prefer to be on a bus corridor, even if it is forbidden, than on the normal road : I have been afraid several times by car drivers, never by a bus.

That's what I like in that country your living there. there's just too many buses here, but the advantage is that when your in a hurry, theres abundance of bus passes by.

Wow, how nice that the drivers in your country are careful and responsible . Here , most drivers drive so fast just to outdo a fellow driver from getting passengers by the road .

That is horrible. I wonder why they get such drivers. Perhaps they should increase the salary of the drivers, and get better drivers to provide the service.

I don't know what happened to the bus companies, I really do hope they have change their process of interviewing new applicants. being a driver of a public bus company takes a great deal of responsibility towards passengers. and this driver who caused it all didn't know just that.

Read about this and I do agree with the suspension of the license of the erring bus company. As for the rest of the drivers also suspended, although I feel sorry for them, I understand the reason being the directive to suspend the license of the bus company and ground all the buses. Come to think of it, you recently heard about this particular bus company being involved in an accident that killed four people and injured others, would you still ride the buses from the same fleet? I hardly doubt it!

Of course, right now I feel scared riding one of them, but if i need to get work and MRT is out of the question for me then bus is my next alternative, i have to becareful though.

I am missing something, how were the other 300 punished? That guy sounds as if he deserved to be jailed.

It's possible that they had suspended the whole company forcing others not to go work. so, yeah all 300 were punished because of one guy, nothing new. What's sad is that he is just new. A lot were complaining that they should just punish him not the rest of them.

@sharon6345 It's possible that those BUS didn't pass the standards since they looked, that's probably meant for them not to have business for a while, meaning lost jobs. yeah, a lot has said he should be the only one punished.

well sometimes things happen and this will be a good wake up call also from the management down to the lowest rank and file staff. next time there should be a critical and thorough screening of the applicants before hiring

@Mavic123456 He's in jail right now because of this mistake he did. But I do believe he did this because he wants to keep awake.

back when I was younger, at 8th grade a bus driver took a bus after hours(around 12 p/m) to do...whatever it was he wanted to do, anyway he was tired, fall asleep and he just got up on the sidewalk and took 2 lives, one of which was my classmate at the time. he didn't even get too much jail time since he was a single dad with 4 kids. sometimes life is unjust

I've rode public transport before and it was never this worst, unless the media always keeps an eye on bus drivers or something. life is unjust for the passengers who became their victims of negligence. have a nice day

that is true not everyone should be punished but now they will investigate and check everyone to make sure they avoid further accidental problems.
