Missing Features In New Mylot / myLot

There are two features that old Mylot had,but the new Mylot does not.In old Mylot we everyday used to get a Mylot digest that had a number of selected,new discussions initiated by members.In old Mylot we also had the option to choose categories of our choice on which we could start discussions.In new Mylot these two features are missing.

I really do not remember much about those features, I have bad memory. I'd like to have categories too. I guess we are now encouraged to use just tags, instead of categories.
