Buying bulk to save money?

My Dad repeatedly a few months ago going on about how I waste money buying things in bulk. I use to store the rabbit hay, and food in the shed as I didn't have the room inside nor would he let me. I had bought a large bag of rabbit pellets for $25 and he threw the rest in the shed (just in the bag it came in). No wonder mice got into it, it was stored in an open shed with a paper bag. He is still whining about it, like it was his money. I had asked him where it went as I use basically one of those bags a year for my 3 rabbits. He still going on, like you don't save any money if you have to throw half of it out (actually I do, as I was in a pinch thinking I had half a bag left, so I had to buy a 5 lb bag for $15.99 yet a 50 lb bag is $25).

My husband and I have 5 rabbits and I always buy the largest bag of hay and the largest bag of food. It would be too expensive to buy many small bags, and we never waste hay or food.

Thats my view, they will continue to eat it. I usually get decent deals even on cat food for my cats as I work in a pet food store. I get the clearance at a low price, and my discount. I bought a small bag it's lasted 2 weeks for $15.99, meanwhile a $25 bag lasts a year.

I think the thing to do is to get a big plastic container with a lid and tell your dad that that is the place for the rabbit food when it is in the shed. Us parents never get it so don't worry about arguing your point. We are always right don't you know?[
