The Crickets are Here

The last two days I have noticed some definite signs of fall. One of them is the constant chorus of crickets singing. Also the berries on my pyracantha have turned bright orange. I see them out my dining room window. Tonight I noticed the sorghum fields we drove past. Just yesterday the tops were yellow but now they are a russet color. We have had a couple of hot days again, but then we got rain tonight. I know lots of people are hoping for fall to come soon but linger long.

I can't hear the crickets for the frogs. We have tons of frogs here because there is a lake and stream close by. My brother is the manage of our apartments and he is constantly having to watch the pool because the frogs get in there and lay their eggs.

That would be quite the hazard for people and probably for the frogs as well. I know early this spring I could hear lots of tree frogs after the rain.

@GardenGerty It really can be. He said that before they opened the pool there were thousands of eggs in there after a couple of days.

Oh today when we walked to the bus stop to pick up Lil Keith the crickets were going crazy. It is a pleasant sound. I am looking forward to the cooler weather.

It is very homey and reassuring that season follows season.

We are still at 89 degrees here--so it sure feels like the height of summer to me

It must be beautiful to experience fall . We only have two seasons here , wet and dry with the dry season gong from March to even November . Though when September comes the weather is cooler though it's so sunny always .

I have often thought I would like to visit your country, but I definitely enjoy having a variety of seasons.
