Fight or Flight?

Incase you haven't read my other recent discussions. my daughter is going through a manic phase right now.(she is Bi-polar and has ups and downs mood swings) When this happens she and I are at odds. When she isn't we are very close and so the manic attitude is really hurtful and causes me a lot of pain. I remember back to my ex's friend one time accusing me of the fight or flight thing that some woman do because my husband was abusive and I had left him a few times but wasn't strong enough to break the relationship and stay away.( Until August of 1996 that is) So, I am wondering if this feeling I keep having when my daughter gets this way is the same thing or if I have foundation in my feelings. You see I get so upset that I start feeling like moving out and finding a place of my own. I start planning and looking into different aspects. You see in 2009 she begged me to come back(after a three month long manic phase) and help her to raise her son. So, is this dysfunctional situation just riding extra heavy on me at this time or do I really need to find some peace. However, she is only like this about four times a year for a couple of weeks from beginning to finish. Can I handle it or should I move on? What would you say?

I believe that your daughter needs the help of a doctor to fight those moments. You cannot continue to have stressful period of times like you did in the past.

She has a meds doctor and I used to go with her when she went, but since I quit driving I don't go anymore. But her PSR usually does and tell the doc what has been observed. I just don't know how much more of it I can stand. It doesn't happen very often but when It does it really has an affect on me.
