I am Not Promoting Anything This is just Information Credit Card When you use a Credit Card the Institution is putting their money towards your transaction. This is considered a loan and should be paid back in 30 days or else you have Interest to pay. Of course you can make Monthly Payments but you will be charged more Interest until this is Paid Off. Debit Card When you use a Debit Card it comes out of your Checking or Savings Account and is deducted from your own account. What this means is you can only spend what you have in your account.

You are absolutely right. They are deadly and will destroy you're life if you don't take heed!

Yes, they can be deadly but we should know how much we can spend and not have a problem with them.

It is the main reason why I never use directly a credit card online. When I need to buy something, I check if PayPal is available and I pay with PayPal if it is, or I use a disposable debit card with only the amount needed if it is not an option. About 5% of people are victims of a credit card fraud when they buy something online : it is enough for me to be careful.

Very good topffer, I have a seperate checking account set up for paypal and that is how I pay using paypal. My other account is for bills and not connected to this account. I only have in the paypal account the money I receive from sites similar to this.

I had my credit card cut when it was becoming a burden to maintain it. I don't have a debit card though I plan to have one soon.

Yes, sometimes a person will charge to much and it becomes a burden then when it is paid off we will cut it up.

Credit cards can be really bad if you don't pay them off within 30days. We fell into a large amount of credit card debt and we ending up having to file bankruptsy. I wished we would have done things a whole lot different. To all you out there just starting your lives in the credit card world BEWARE they can be VERY ADDICTIVE. It's like it's money you really don't have and will pay dearly in interest if you're not careful. Please learn from someone who's been there. If you can discipline yourself and pay it off in 30days well it will help to build your credit, but if you only pay the minimum you are already in trouble!

Kimberly that is very good advice to people just starting out and also some who haven't used their credit card recently or at least not a lot of activity. I knew someone who had to declare bankruptsy also because of a high credit card debt and it took them something like 8 years before they could buy anything on credit again.

It is too easy to get out of the habit of paying off the balance on the credit card and get yourself into trouble. I use my debit card for everything. I recently got a Paypal debit card which is so great. Credit cards are too easy to get you into trouble. I'd stay with the debit cards. If you can't afford something then you shouldn't be getting it anyway.

That is the consensus is if you can't afford it then don't buy it. Seems most people have debit cards but not credit cards.

In my Bank they charge you a small amount for having a Debit Card so I turned it over and now I only use the credit card and a check when I need to.

I have used credit cards in the past. And to be honest, they are more trouble than they are worth. I like my debit card way better. It keeps things in line and keeps things within my budget.

Credit cards can be very evil. I only use it for gas and little stuff. I do pay it off monthly though. I do not wish to pay interest. I like my Best Buy credit card since their is no interest on it.

well in my opinion both have their merits as well as demerits if u have recognized so far... a credit card is useful when u don't have money in your bank account whereas a debit card is useful when u don't want to carry hard cash. so depending upon the need and situations people have their own preferences and choices

It is quite a few years since I had a credit card. However, when I did use a credit card is was for convenience only. I would use it to purchase large items such as a television or furniture etcetera and always cleared the balance as soon as the bill arrived. Due to only buying items that I already had the money to pay for I can honestly say that I have never paid interest on such a card. Since debit cards became available I have no use for a credit card at all because the debit card will provide the exact same service in my case.

Credit card if used judiciously is always better than a Debit card. When using a credit card one must remember to pay the bills before the due date, otherwise bank issuing credit card levies heavy penalty and stops providing credit facility. I prefer using credit card for my transactions.

If one wants their money taken out of their account and has enough in the bank then I would use a debit card. If I buy something quite a lot then I would put it on a credit card and try to pay it off in a month if not then I will pay it off in two months. I do not like paying interest so will try to pay off as soon as possible.

Credit card is useful when you do international internet transactions and there will be a credit limit. You must have deposited an amount at the bank that issues the credit card. It is safe and useful.

I'd choose debit card any day. I think it makes me more alert and responsible somehow. Plus, I know that it's my own money and not the bank's. I terminated my credit card years ago.
