I am seeing a bunch of discussions that will give a definition of two different items or things. However, they do not ask a question at the end. How do you respond to those?

Discussions that simply pose a simple "this or that" scenario are not really encouraged here, so I wouldn't respond to them so much. They will often all under the "poll" category, which is also discouraged. For example, a post that simply says "do you prefer chocolate or vanilla ice cream", would fall in to that category.

Thank you for clarifying that to me. I really do appreciate your answer. I have stayed away from those type of discussions. i will do so for now on.

I guess it depends on what they've written. If it's just little tale of daily life, then you might comment on how you relate to it. But if you have nothing to say, then I guess you should move on to another discussion.

It was a definition of two items. Almost like they started a discussion but failed to finish it.

It would depend on the discussion. It doesn't have to be a question, you can just tell you story in relation to the original discussion.

Nope, it wasn't like that. The discussion gave the definition of two items. That was it. No question. No personal note or opinion added.

It is definitely sad that some people around continue doing that. I believe they would be mostly newbies. If you can relate anything and share all good. But in most cases (related to such discussions) I find that there is nothing much to write. On some instances, the OP will not even return to reply to what you have commented, but dont lose heart. You have done your job and Mylot knows that. But if there is nothing much to write, you can either - 1. Find some responders on that discussion and try interacting with them or 2. You can hop on to find another discussion - I prefer the 1 and 2 more when I encounter such a discussion.
