Are you Okay with Carpooling?

Recently our government made a great solution to the city traffic. They deployed what we call the Highway Patrol Group consisting of policemen who do traffic enforcement. A lot of praise are being given because it definitely decreased the daily grind even during rush hours.
Now the next step some people in position have thought of is banning private vehicles with less than 4 people in EDSA, a major metropolitan highway. This of course will encourage carpooling however most private vehicle owners only have negative comments about this, thinking it will never solve traffic even just a little bit.
Personally I think it's good to enforce it so people will learn to carpool and not waste all those empty seats in their private vehicles.
Those who own cars and others are mostly the ones complaining, not even thinking how carpooling could help out people in the long run. Yes it's not the only solution to traffic but it's a start.
So, are you pro or against carpooling in your area? Do you or don't you have it where you live?

It is a good thing. It is a good way to save our planet. If every car is full, we have less cars on our roads.

True. Do you have it where you live? Right now I think this is rarely done here.

@owstalaga I don't think so. We don't have anything like that in portugal.

I'm all for carpooling... if I had a car. However, I do have a pool, so I guess that works the same way so yeah, carpooling is good.
Seriously though, we need all the help that we can in solving the traffic jam that we endure every single day. Every little bit counts so I'm all for carpooling!

Very true. It also helps the environment aside from reducing traffic.

I think there is a special lane just for carpoolers in one country, and I don't mind it much. I did carpool with my daughter for a while, but instead of getting a break from driving, only my car got a break, becuase she would have me drive her car too.

I'm all for carpooling but banning private vehicles with fewer than 4 people, highway or not, is rather extreme in my opinion. People might have different reasons for traveling alone for whatever purpose, and in some cases, they probably don't have a choice.

Well I think they should make a carpool lane instead for those who opts to take carpooling. And then when they see that lane moving fast they will be envious and get encouraged to carpool.
