Off To See The Wizard

Oh wait, he done gave the brain to the scarecrow. Oh no, ok, I will have to go without a brain for a bit longer now until I can come up with another plan. In that case, I will just be off to see my step daughters and a few of the grandchildren. I'm so excited, and yet dread that drive. Have you ever been looking forward to something but dread it also? That is always my problem when we decide to take a trip to go visit relatives. I get so excited and anxious to go, but I have to psych myself up to actually climb in the car. Anyways, I will be back on Monday. I will try to check in from the hotel when I can. Have fun everyone.

@sofssu that and the long, never ending (or so it seems) drive.

Oh yes, we had a absolutely wonderful time with the grandkids. Which was so hard leaving them. I was never one for emotional goodbyes, but it sure was extremely emotional this time. I understand what you mean, when I was younger I loved to jst jump in a vehicle and go, as I grow older, that is no longer the case. I have become more of a home body.

@crazyhorseladycx I have no doubt that you would. I just wish you could. Hopefully they come visit you often. Yes, leaving is always the hardest part.

The drive is always the worst part, and I don't find flying much better. Thank you very much.

@sofssu oh I don't mind flying. I'm just not keen on sitting in an airport terminal for 2-3 hours, fighting the crowds, etc.

A long drive does tend to temper the excitement, but it will be worth it. Enjoy your trip. As you can see, I've got off that fence!

It sure does for me. 12 hours later we are here. Oh and whoohoo you climbed off the fence. No splinters? Bumps? Or bruises?

@jaboUK well, I'm glad to here you came out unharmed in the getting off that fence. Yes, it was, and then Friday 5 more hours north.

@TexanTornado Not even a bruise! It's been a very soft landing so far . That was some trip - 12 hours, sheesh!

I feel that way also. I used to love traveling but the older I get the more I dislike it. But I do get excited about the trip itself.

Seems we are alike there. In my younger days, I lived to be out on the roads going from one place to another. Now I have to psych myself up for the 'trip' but love the experiences when we get where we are going.

@simone10 That is me, the most I can sit still is about 2 hours, then we have to stop. We use smoking as an excuse. Cause we don't smoke in our house or our vehicles.

@TexanTornado Same here. Part of my problem is I am uncomfortable having to sit for so long. I have to get out every few hours to walk around. It's a good thing we have the dogs with us because I now have an excuse

Thank you very much. The trip was safe, and the visiting with the kids and grandkids and the rest of hubby's family was absolutely wonderful.

I hate long drives and still suffer from travel sickness which is strange. Enjoy yourself ;D

I don't mind the long drives if there is something new and exciting to see as you travel, but when you see nothing but empty dried up fields for 2 hours straight, it gets a bit boring. Oh and the body parts that go numb after a while, I don't enjoy either. Thanks, but we finally made it back.
