Since, school has started. Many areas are complaining about lice once again. My kids have had it in the past. They know not to wear someone else's hat, clothes etc. Not to use someone else's brush, comb. That doesn't immune them if they give someone a hug who has lice. They still can get it. As lice doesn't care if a person has clean hair, dirty hair , or fluffy hair. Lice doesn't care if the person is poor or rich. lice likes all types of hair.
Have you have to deal with a lice issues before? Have your kids had lice? What is your biggest pet peeve about lice?
Mine would be someone having lice and my kids are around them. the person not saying a word. I find out when the kids can't stop itching.

I hope I won't have to deal with that problem, so far they haven't had any. It's more common in kids who go to daycare, I believe.

Not true. My children never went to day care. My kids have caught it several times. Once at the babysitters. Other times from a relative who never mention having it. Two of them relatives caught it from school. As the parents allowed their kids to go to school with lice for some silly reason.
I got to the point when that family member left. I used a lice spray and sprayed anywhere that person was at. To prevent us from getting it.

@cahaya1983 The thing is, school is letting happen. The parents are. My ex sister in law didn't want to deal with her daughter. As the only break she got was when she was in school. her daughter was special needs. She knew her daughter had lice and would send her any ways. The school would call her daily to come get her child. The school got fed up and called cps on her. The mom tried to say she was allergic to the treatment to use. Which I know was a flat out lie. She didn't want to deal with it.

@rusty2rusty I don't understand why they would let the kids with lice go to school, that's just not considerate. I'd be very irritated as well.

Make sure you wash everything. Including pets and furniture. I would buy a spray made by rid to do that.

My kids have never had lice, knock on wood, but I had them a ton while growing up. They're no fun and the itching is ridiculous!

That is good news they have never had lice. I would not want to wish lice on my worst enemy.

I had it as a kid. Never did know where it came from. My dad and stepmom cut all of us girls hair really short. Always kept it short after that. i do not like short hair. Til this day i wear it long.

Yes, i remembered it as when my daughter was in high school . I bought Kwell , a shampoo like solution that kills lice . Though , i have to repeat it after a few days just to make sure . After that , they're gone and i advised my daughter never ever borrow other's comb nor her comb be lent to others and that goes with her towel and other personal belongings , since they are at a dorm .

My kids caught it one time at the baby sitters. As one of the kids had it. The kids mom was a nurse and it was caught from child care. When she wasn't allowed to attend. She took her to the sitters, where all the kids got it.
At first my kids were accused when they couldn't get rid of it. I told them if I am accused again I will switched sitters. As my son had a shaved head. I shaved my daughters head. As she was only two and really had no hair yet. We had got rid of it. But it was still at the sitters. It wasn't coming from my family.
Once it was found out where it came. I did receive an apology.
