i am convinced some of my neighbors are insane.whether out of kindness to others or wastefulness in some cases, the things they have curbed just amazes me.bless them either way.
in the past years,i have fixed numerous things, including my entire upstairs bathroom from people's leftovers.having had to repair what dad neglected 17 years due to cancer, this has been a blessing financially.
other pickers that leave a mess,i have nothing but disdain for, that's not right.if people give things away and you trash the place, you're a jerk.
i never take more than i need, and i put things out of my own too at my house free for other people to enjoy.
in the past year, i'd got a new tv with an easy fix,2 mahogany bookcases, antique wainscotting, and even a generator.that needs a part, but not impossible.asking a neighbor about marble pieces led to him giving me 13 gallons of good paint free (he was happy to be rid of them).
any pet carriers or clothes i find are cleaned and donated.the local pet rescue is happy to take them.
i like to think not only am i saving these from the landfill,it's being put back to good purpose.this society can be too much of a "throwaway" at times instead of recycling/donating like they should.

@scarlet_woman I know how you feel. I've found some great stuff but now, if you need to get rid of stuff you have to take it to the council tip and they have the good stuff for sale. Not cheaply either.

At our transfer station (dump) we have a "share shack" where people can drop off good stuff and others can take it for free. I have gotten stuff from the street as well.
