Almost the perfect moment.

Door in Japan in an alley, yes I took

I took this photo in Japan a few years ago. It is my favorite photo from the trip, and literally is of a painted door in an alley. Granted, I wasn't aware of the accidental photo bomber until later, I wish I had one without him. Still, it adds some amusement to what would be a normal photo of something. Ever have a moment like that, one that is almost perfect but then...something happens to mar it ever slightly? It almost makes the moment more human, more real. What was your almost perfect moment?

Did you visit Japan? I have never visited this country and it is at the top of my wishlist. I like the human factor on this photo, it's a good picture.

What a painting, it is good you see the humor in this so that you are not annoying with the guy for messing up your photo.

I was steamed at the time, more so that I didn't take more than one shot, I almost always take more than one shot, but this time, I did not.

I believe that the person walking past actually improves the photo because it gives a human interest (or perhaps 'disinterest', in this case, because he has clearly seen the painting many times and is ignoring it) . He may be a little too much in the foreground and it might have been better if he were a little closer to the painting, but I believe that, on the whole, the picture has more impact with him than without.

I like that way of looking at it. Sometimes i like him there, sometimes not. Depends on how I am feeling. But it does make it seen more real, more random event, rather than staged wall.

@Jessicalynnt I looked at the photo first as it is and then covering the figure with my hand. I definitely think it benefits from the human element.

@owlwings I have pondered getting it made large print on canvas sized, random man and all. Hundreds of photos from all over Japan, and this one is still in my top 5 favs

Seem to be having too many of late. My neighbor's daughter gave me one recently. She walked in and as usual I lifted her and we played around for a while. Her mother came to collect her, and she refused to go to HER MOTHER.

@Jessicalynnt ..oh once she is with me, she does not even look at her parents. My ego bloats like a sumo fighter. It feels good to be loved like that, right? Even her brother is constantly asking to be sent over to my place.

Love the colours. You don't always see thing until later when reviewing them, shame about the guy but it does had something to the photo.

I loved the colors too, it was a bright sudden splash in the middle of a dull alley
