Ghost Hunters

I'm watching a show I haven't seen in years...Ghost Hunters! For the first four or five seasons, I never missed an episode, but after I started dating my most recent girlfriend, she would get freaked out by the show, so I pretty much quit watching it. Well, said girlfriend has moved on to a sweet job in Texas, so I don't have that issue anymore. I forgot all about Ghost Hunters being on TV on Wednesday nights, and when I got home from work tonight I started flipping through the channels to see what was on. I was quite excited to see the show on, and so decided to watch it. I miss the episodes when Kris Williams and Amy Bruni were on the show, but was excited to see that Jason, Steve, and the rest of the gang were still on the show! By the way, an interesting fact about me that is pretty cool (at least pretty cool to me) was that I got to do a private ghost hunt of the St. Augustine Lighthouse several years ago with Kris and Amy. It was quite the thrilling adventure!

@Salamnda but it might make for an interesting discussion! Obviously, there will be doubters, but it also may include people in the discussion who also have interesting stories to tel as well! I, for one, would love to hear it!

Shows like that, and I am sure I watched this one a time or two when it was on, sort of defy the whole theory that ghosts actually exist. I mean, when you can make a whole multi-episode show out of so much "proof" and "activity" and things happening but can't even get a single unblurry picture of Bigfoot? I'm calling BS on that. lol

How in the hell haven’t we got a good, unblurry photo of Bigfoot? That’s just preposterous! That guys out there every day working his hardest to make himself known to us, and nobody can get a photo?

@moffittjc Right. Besides, the quality of photos we get nowadays on our PHONES! We should have a pristinely clear picture by now.

Wow that is really neat that you got to do a private showing with them at the lighthouse. I have never actually watched the show. Are they still having fresh episodes or are all they reruns now from years ago. I am terrified to watch that kind of stuff. Although I do not believe in ghosts because I haven't seen any watching shows like just creep me out so bad. I would have horrible nightmares if I watched that stuff. When I was young and lived with my mother my sister and my mother and I would stay up late at night watching unsolved mysteries. I loved it but I was so terrified after. I will not let my kids watch anything scary. Gosh just reading my 11 year old and 7 year old Harry Potter they have been having nightmares.

They are still producing new episodes, so the show is still going strong! I love watching scary shows, but I still get a creepy feeling if I'm watching them by myself late at night! It was weird because my girlfriend hated watching paranormal shows, but had no problem watching shows like Unsolved Mysteries and Forensic Files. To me, those shows were even creepier than the paranormal shows, because those shows depict the actual horrors of real life.

@moffittjc That is so true. Real life things scare me worse then things that are made up. Reading horror books I can handle but watching a movie about real events like serial killers scares me so bad and gives me nightmares for days. The things that can happen in real life are just terrifying I try not to think about it.

This is a great show. How exciting to go to a ghost hunting. We did a ghost hunting with one of my cousin when we were young. An old abandoned mansion in the middle of nowhere. A terrifying experience. We knew that there was something weird, we never went back again.

It is a good show, and I'm glad it's still on. Unfortunately, I think a lot of the things they do on that show are for entertainment value more than for the value of actually trying to find something paranormal, but it's still fun to watch anyway...especially when you're alone in your house at night! lol

@moffittjc I'm not sure if it was Ghost Hunters or another show like it but one is quite comical. Like anything and everything is a sign that a spirit is around. South Park took them off on an episode once and I laughed so much.
South Park ghost hunters, super funny S13

Ghost Hunters isn't so bad. To me, the most comical one is Ghost Adventures, as those guys freak out about everything!

I don't watch these shows but have seen a few episodes. My girlfriend is a big fan of all those ghost shows on TV. She love Ghost Hunters and especially Ghost Adventures. I just find them to be fake. But they are sometimes entertaining. I wouldn't mind being on a ghost hunt. I would find it exciting, even though I know ghosts do not exist.

I probably looked at one episode for about a few minutes - I couldn't find the remote. I too am a little freaked out by shows about ghosts.

I remember back when I first started watching the show how freaked out I was about it, but then I realized over the years that they have actually never proved one way or another the actual presence of ghosts. True, they have recorded some compelling evidence, but nothing definitive. So now, whenever I hear something go bump in the night, instead of being scared or freaked out by it I look at it from a humorous perspective and think to myself, "what would the Ghost Hunters do in this situation?" It usually takes the edge off my fear right away! lol
