My son has an old iPhone 4, and back in August he was due for an upgrade, based on our 2-year contract. He seemed to be enjoying his phone, so I never mentioned to him he could get an upgrade. Fast forward to earlier this month, when he asked me when he could get an upgrade. I asked him why he wanted an upgrade all of a sudden, and he told me it was because he had finally reached his memory capacity on his phone. So, I told him we would head to Verizon this weekend and see about getting an upgrade. Well, today when I picked him up from school, he asked if we could stop by the Verizon store and look at the phones. I had suggested he upgrade to an iPhone 5s, so he wanted to look at them. When we got there, I jokingly asked the sales clerk if they had any of the brand new iPhone 6s phones, which had just been released that morning. News media had been reporting all day that at every phone store hundreds of people had been lined up waiting to get the new phone, only to find out they were sold out. So, I didn't expect the answer the sales clerk gave me. He told me he had two in stock. I immediately told him I would take both, one for me, and one for my son, if he could keep my monthly costs close to what I was already paying. Thanks to a special Verizon was running, we were able to upgrade both our phones and only pay about $7 more a month than what I was currently paying. I jumped right on that opportunity, and both my son and I walked out of the Verizon store with the new iPhone 6s phones! My son got a 64-GB phone, and I got a 128-GB phone. We were really excited, and have been sitting here at home for the past couple of hours playing with all the features on our new phones! Has anyone else gotten the new iPhone 6s yet?

As a matter of fact, I got the 64gig Rose Gold, and I must admit it is beautiful. I am really loving it too. I love the 3d touch, even though not all apps are compatible with it yet, but as time goes on they will be. I had the iphone 6 plus, and with t-mobile, I can upgrade twice a yea, but that is really excessive. I preordered my phone, and it was sent ups and I got it this morning. I am not retgretting getting it either. Now, to have fun putting apps back on it again.

I like the Rose Gold color, I think my daughter would really love that one! For my upgrade, it was really quick and simple to change everything over from the old phone to the new phone, as I had everything backed up in iCloud. All I did was log in to iCloud on the new phone and hit restore. Everything from my old phone uploaded right onto the new phone!

Oh, I forgot to mention I got the Space Gray phone! Not by choice, it was all they had left in stock, but I actually like the color!

@moffittjc I got it yesterday, and I love it, especially the 3 d touch. I just wish more apps took advantage of it, but I think they will in time. Videos on it, are beautiful. I am glad I ordered it, as I know I will have for a long time.

@moffittjc I just have some issues with apple themselves, plus I don't like that they only allow apps they create. I much prefer android and user made apps

@Jessicalynnt When I was an android user, one of the biggest frustrations I had was how frequently the apps kept crashing the operating system. The problem with the android system is that so much of it is created by third-party developers, and as a result it's hard for them to ensure quality-control systems. That's partly why android systems get viruses and malware so frequently. Although Apple keeps a tight control on their operating system and apps, it also helps guarantee to some degree that there are very few problems with viruses and other bugs. But no system is perfect!

I think Apple really wants to maintain its dominant lead in the smartphone sales market over the Samsung Galaxy phones, so it is working with service providers to encourage them to make the new Apple phones affordable to encourage as many people as possible to upgrade.

Do you have a smartphone? I really like the new Samsung Galaxy phone, I just wish it didn't use the Android operating system. I used to have droid phones, but once I switched to Apple, there was no looking back!

I currently have the iPhone 6 Plus. I did not upgrade to the 6s Plus. Why? Because it's basically the same phone. I will wait for the 7. My son has my old iPhone 5 right now and what I usually do is, every 2 years I upgrade to the newest phone and give him my old one. So, next September he will wind up with my iPhone 6 Plus.

not only did we beat the odds of finding two in stock, but two in stock that were of the exact gigabytes that we were hoping for! It was a win-win all the way around!

@moffittjc I still have my iPhone 4s. Have had it for 5 years. Still in great working order. I'm not really fussed about getting new things or upgrading unless absolutely necessary.
I am still learning about my phone lol I'm not very knowledgeable about these types of things. Once a light came out of it like a torch and I still have no idea how I even turned it on or off.

My daughter still has her iPhone 5, and she doesn't want to upgrade it either. I'll probably keep my current phone for a while, because I do not like the iPhone 7's

I have not had any issues with the speed at which my iPhone charges, to me it seems to charge pretty fast. I have never had to pay for any apps that I use, so that hasn't been an issue for me so far. I've used both Android phones and iPhones, and both types have their advantages and disadvantages.
