When is a grapefruit not a grapefruit

Yesterday I wanted a grapefruit, because Big One and I both like them and we can share one as a starter (Little One has an orange instead). I thought I had noticed some in our local Co-Op, which was unusual, so I went in to look. Sure enough there on the shelf were what looked like grapefruit; however the sign said ‘Large Oranges 50p’. I was looking at them when another of the Mums I know came in. I held it out and asked her ‘What’s this?’ ‘It’s a grapefruit’ she replied. I told her that was what I thought too but I was confused by the sign. I took the fruit to the till and asked the cashier ‘Is this a grapefruit?’ ‘Yes’ she said. I told her I had started to doubt myself because the sign said oranges. She asked me to wait a moment and disappeared. When she came back she told me ‘No, it’s an orange, we don’t have any grapefruit.’ I bought it anyway and yes, it was a grapefruit, a pink one in fact. A grapefruit by any other name is still as tasty!

It must have been a small grapefruit to be mistaken for an orange. Once I bought some oranges that were oranges but they looked like grapefruit inside but still tasted like orange

it really makes sense they normally have signs that that say what they are it could be misunderstood

i could see that if you think about it the big oranges can represent a grapefruit because their big you would know by the color and the size but easy to tell apart normally
