If you have a piece of wood that is about 6-8 inches wide and approximately 12-14 inches long. Cut 3-4 inches off the bottom for shelf with a skill saw. Round the corners and sand if you prefer. Use wood glue to adhere the shelf to the board and then when it dries drill 2-3 small holes in behind the shelf and put in some wood screws. Paint or stain shelf to desired color. Add decorative design. When completely dry use finishing. Krylon clear spray paint and Modge Podge work well. When completely dry.Attach wall hanging hardware to the back or use a couple of wood screws and wind a piece of wire around each screw for hanging.Do you enjoy dabbling in the wood shop?

That looks really cool and I am sure would be a fun family activity to do. Make a few of them and we would have tons of fun and the kids would have chance to be creative any way they would like for halloween.
