Friendly caution: Before you plant that pecan tree, know that you will spend the rest of your life bent over, picking up the nuts and digging out the seedlings... Years ago i moved into a home surrounded by mature pecans...love their shade, and the wildlife they attract, always have bluejays and squirrels but there's definitely zillions of baby pecans everywhere in my garden! Sad thing is they're small and very hard shelled so cracking them isn't fun, but when you do..Great flavor! Who else has these in their yard?

When I was back East, I marveled at the beautiful oak trees that were everywhere and harvested some acorns for the preschool where I volunteer. Then I heard the locals cursing the same oak trees. To me, the acorns were beautiful. To them, they're a pain in the neck.

I would love to have a pecan tree. I love pecans and would not mind the work of having them to eat. I do not knew if they even grew in colorado.

Pecans do not grow here in Switzerland, but I remember picking up pecans in a parking lot in Florida.

Oh that's interesting. You should sell the seedlings off on eBay (or somewhere else)! More pecan trees to bother other people. It may be good for business minded people to buy them off from you. We don't have any trees where we live anymore, oh wait... we have what we call Aratilis, scientifically it is known as Muntingia. The fruits get eaten by kids way before it falls off so no seedling problem here.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Muntingia Scientific classification Kingdom: Plantae (unranked): Angiosperms (unranked): Eudicots (unranked): Rosids Order: Malvales Family: Muntingiaceae Genus: Muntingia L. Species: M. cal
