When we get direct personal messages from members we don't seem to have an option to simply reply to the messages directly. Just to thank someone for a lovely message they sent me here on Mr message it Mylot today I have to go to their page to open their message box independently of my own, and reply there. surely an option to reply to messages more directly would be more practical.
Post-script - Oops my mistake. If I click on the users name on their message rather than their highlighted name anywhere else, it opens a reply drop down box. Surely a 'reply' button would be easier to spot and operate.

Look, this isn't a 'nanny website' where everything is obvious and handed to you on a plate! It's meant to have many tricks and disappearing buttons to challenge your intelligence and resourcefulness. How else do you expect there to be anything worth discussing?
Besides, it gives one a sense of achievement when one finally discovers how to do something.

@arthurchappell Even simple things like public toilets can be an unexpected hazard. I may be able to work out whether I'm a 'Buck' or a 'Doe' in an inn named "The White Hart" (I did have to laugh at 'Setters' and 'Pointers' seen at one pub with a canine theme, however) but I only have to travel for a few hours to be puzzled by whether I should choose the door marked 'Dynion' or the one marked 'Merched' or travel in another direction to be mind-blown by what appears to be an image of a lady wearing slacks (as most seem to) and one of a man wearing a kilt.

I still push doors marked pull and struggle with shirt buttons; I'm lucky if I find the plate alone what's on it lol!

@arthurchappell I can understand that. Of course once you actually open up the message there is a reply button at the bottom.

@Asylum Yes I saw that though I can reply to this thread on a simpler link without having to further open the reply out.

@arthurchappell Responding to comment etcetera is a lot easier and quicker, but to be fair it is also something that will occur far more often an thus more important.

You seem to want everything on a platter.I saw another post where you were asking for yet another facility.
Already others have written to you how best to get to messaging.

You can delete them too, if you open the message, there is a trash can next to the exact grouping you want to delete, it is, admittedly, a setup I had not seen before

@arthurchappell someone had to tell me about that one, it's not a familiar setup, and easy to miss
