The Case of the Missing Keys

Dare I confess it, I've lost a key ring. How can you lose keys you may ask? Well, if I knew the answer to that I'd probably know where to find them. The trouble is, I don't remember when I saw them last. It's not too serious. The car key is on a separate ring, as is the key to our mail box. The missing key ring has only a house key and my swimming pool swipe card on it, along with a small key ring tag with my name on it. I have spare house keys. It will no doubt turn up hidden under something when I stop looking. I do hope so. But at the moment I've no idea where to look next. Have you ever lost your keys? If so, where did you eventually find them?

I have never lost my keys, my husband did, I remember he came back from a walk and he was unable to find his keys. We checked everywhere, the day after I went to the post office to get my mail from our mail box and they said they had found the key... in the mailbox.

I can well imagine myself doing that! I did lock them in the car boot once.

@valmnz That was the specialty of my beloved father, I always had a double in my purse, so I could open the doors when he locked the keys inside his car.

I could do with that for even more than my keys.

If you are only talking about keys then I have not but have lost other things like my engagement ring which was never found and a few other valuables. I always wore both my wedding and enggement rings. I suspect it must have fallen off when I was having a bath.

Oh, that would have been terrible for you.Keys are quite minor compared with that.

I would be extremely nervous if I would lose my keys. Did you find them yet?

It's only really the swimming pool pass that matters, as I have spares of all the others.

@valmnz This is my wife's speciality. I no longer panic when she announces that she's lost her big bunch of house and car keys because experience dictate that they'll be at the bottom of her voluminous bag. Her bank card also disappears thusly.

I've been through all the bags I've used in recent weeks. My bags sound like your wife's.

I lost my house keys once and never found them. I had to have a locksmith come and change the locks so that was an expensive lesson LOL

Fortunately we have spare house keys, plus one hidden outside so if family members arrive unexpectedly they can get in.

Once I locked my keys in my car. But I already kept a spare zippered into a compartment of my wallet. I knew that I could lock my bag in my car or my keys, but I would never get out of the car without one or the other at least.

That was a wise move. Yes, I have spares too.

I have, and I had to re-trace my steps to find them. It was on top of my car's hood (bonnet) when I eventually found them after looking all over inside the house.

If only I could remember where and when I used them last.
