My eBay Listing

My bubbler readers would know that I'm an eBayer. I was actually fascinated by it since its early days about 20 years ago. I guess the concept of online auction was totally new to me then. And the idea of online selling which means a listing can be viewed by anyone around the world still fascinates me. Potential buyers are not just locals but also international community, and all transactions are done online with no face-to-face interactions required.
So...
I have used eBay more as a seller than a buyer. For many years in the past, I was a very active seller until I got too overwhelmed and stopped for a while. This year I decided to start selling again. But this time around, I only list flat and easy-to-ship items. I surely don't make much profit at all after the various fees and charges, but I do enjoy seeing my items end up all over the world.

I have been selling on ebay for sixteen years now and I love the idea of selling things. Where I work I can always get stuff on sale real cheap.

I have only purchased from eBay and then only a few times. I really don't like auctions, it's like a game of chance or the lottery or gambling. I get really unhappy if I don't win, and the tension is too much for me. Give me a price any day.

@Rollo1 and @Jessicalynnt Yeah, I only bid if I see a good chance of winning and I don't bid too often at all. I do like seeing bidders fighting it out on my listing though.

I have often wondered about ebay but never tried it. I have found several videos on Youtube of people going out to thrift stores, good will stores and auctions buying stuff and then putting it on ebay. Most of them show an enormous profit. Videos will be titled $50 worth of stuff to sell for $300 on ebay or something of that sort. I have wondered if it is possible to make this much.

@sishy7 Have you ever watched the youtube videos? Some of those things they get at good will/thrifting don't look as if they are worth what they say they will sell it for on ebay.

@Shellyann36 No, actually I've never seen the videos and I think you're most likely correct about those claims. I tend to believe more of the stories from other eBayers I know online. Some of them are very successful sellers there, and they shared how they'd find branded items at thrift stores that can be listed on eBay for at least twice the price they paid for.

@sishy7 Ebay bought a similar site when they came in France, so I have been a client since day 1. As a buyer I did not lost to change for Ebay, but it has not been the case for sellers.
Saint-Pol-Sur-Mer ? Brrr, it is in the North near Belgium. Too cold for me

@Bellatricks The nice thing is I start to build up some buyers. Some of them even become my repeat and multiple-purchase customers.

In past I was not even buying stuffs from online. Just recently I started my online buying experience. I never tried of selling something online. I always wonder how it happens. I mean I am buying from someone and he/she packs the item with site's logo on it. How it happens...?lol..
Good to know that you sell items online. Hope you get nice sell this time too. Best of luck.

@sishy7, I tried and never sold any.
I posted nail wraps and stickers and also tried posting them in auction. No one seemed interested. I also tried local sites. I had so many inquiries but no one bought my items. So I decided I need to stop this nonsense.

@wittynet You are in the Philippines, I am also too. It is far more harder to sell here online because the people haven't gotten used to buying online. They have the fear of maybe getting scammed which is present always if you see people complaining in blogs. Me, I had some success selling online here in the country.

I've sold on ebay for several years, too (with some buying) but seems these days I'm able to sell less and less on there so I don't try to do it as much.

I sold a lot on Craigslist over this past year but have a few items left. I'm just so afraid of someone lying to get their money back and keeping my item. I used to sell years ago and then closed it out with 100% and over 1,000 feedback. The new rules for buyers frustrated me and the fees outrageous since you have to add paypal which takes fees as well.

@sishy7 I like to find a balance between. At least I want to aspire to be a power seller. But it will be hard because I wanted to have international buyers also.

@jvincent_129 I know you are... I've seen many power sellers on eBay from Asian countries and I think you should follow your aspiration. Good luck!

I can see how it could get stressful if I were a power or very active seller. Right now I'm just adopting a kinda laid back selling attitude... I'd rather have less buyers but I can serve them well than being overwhelmed by more sales that I could handle.
