A Frequent Buyer

The other night , when I arrived home and took a look at all what I bought in my ecobag , I saw no mats of vitamin supplements . I took a last look at the counter where I bought them , before I left that pharmacy , only to be surprised that when I arrived they're nowhere to be seen from the ecobag nor my handbag . The next day , I went back to the pharmacy and asked them that I didn’t get the vitamin supplements I bought and enumerated them . And they smilingly get a small brown paper tucked away , with my bought vitamin supplements .. They said they are just making sure that I am the one who really bought them , when they listened to my enumeration of what should be in the small brown paper . It is really an advantage . when you are a frequent buyer of a store or a “suki” as we call it in Filipino .

Good you found your lost purchase. My husband often pays for the stuff and leaves it behind.. He usually makes a second trip to get them.. they know him so well that they just hand it over to him.

It happens here too, once I forgot one of the bags containing quite a lot of stuff , but the girl at the counter had kept it safely and gave it to me when I went later ! I agree once they come to know you well they do give special attention ..

Well, they more or less know because maybe they got it after i left so they know whose was it and waited for me to return and get it . It is an advantage that we patronize a store always , because you become one of their valued client .

@Lushlala The saying that "do unto others what you would like other do unto you " is what applies here actually.

@SIMPLYD You're so right, my friend. I often see people being rude to people in stores and just shake my head in shame and horror. If you're nice to them, they return the favour and treat you well as well :)

This is good service, I always buy in the same shops because they know me and if there is a problem it's easier to fix it.

@Bluedoll Yes, you are correct , not all stores are that with their customers . But they should be doing that , because that's how to keep their clients stick to your store .

@SIMPLYD Not all stores value their customers but when you find one that does it is really great. I like how they did it.

Glad the store still had them for you. I have done that once or twice. The last time I did it the store was very busy and the person behind me walked out with the purchase. I went back to get it and it was no where to be found. Fortunately it was a few dollar items. I just repurchased them.

@Shellyann36 What a shame, @Shellyann! I just hope that that person knew what they were and what purpose they served, and desperately needed them. Not that it makes it right. But it'd be a small consolation, i guess.

This is something I have been desperately trying to drive home in my father's brain. The last 40 odd years! He never buys steadily from one shop, anything.

Hmm , don't let him buy in one store , just let him have his own way . Old people are like that . They don't want to be told because they would like to assert that they are more knowledgeable on things.

Most of the stores value their suki a lot. IN fact in my sister's shop she could memorise all her suki and she has tons of them. So whenever they left something, she would get mad at her workers, why they didn't remind the suki of their buys. So when they come back, she knew exactly who left who and would give it to them without any further questions.

@SIMPLYD We actually got that kind of attitude from our mother. Goodwill can never be bought. It's very important in every business that you should establish the trust and good impression of the clients.

Well, i am confident i will get what i forgot there . I am a frequent buyer there , which we call in Tagalog "suki " . And here in the Philippines , if you are a suki they will really take an extra mile so that you will also be loyal to their store . That's one nice marketing strategy , right ?

I could relate to your story my friend. It is an advantage to be a suki primarily for that reason. I also had not just one experience of leaving but later regaining things I bought from my suki. Also when you have suki, you get special discount and also small gifts from them during Christmas.

Oh hi ! It's good to see you here again ! See , you can relate too .. When we have our suki we are confident that we are not being overpriced as to what we are buying . In fact, there cold discounts and an extra item given to us . And yes, those extra items as gift for Christmas .
