A lapse back to quiet today with not too much to do other than a few errands for my Mum.
I went for her lottery tickets for her which is usually routine as she uses the same numbers every week, but the lottery organizers have changed the rules, adding extra numbers to make bigger pay-outs (but with fewer chances to win the giant prizes). I had to let my mum know that her current tickets are no longer valid, and this was too late for the draw tonight (on the day covered by this diary).
After lots of job leads I pursued recently proved worthless, I secured a promising interview with an audio-translation firm running language courses. I will just have to listen to recordings in English made by students and type out their text verbatim. I have an interview and basic training on Thursday. It is sadly only temporary work, possibly just until the end of October.

Looked in. You have to have a linkedin account. I had problems with linkedin and shut my account there.

@arthurchappell I have one of those with work, never really use it much, but work insisted. the pay is really good. like you start at 8 bucks an accepted blog. I'd write more but my issue is time, you have to do some research and such. so it could take an hour to get a solid entry.

I think I'd enjoy being a hermit. I read a book about eccentrics which mentioned a 19th century rich people's fad for paying people to live as hermits on the family estate, in a cave or folly. I'd have happily signed up.

@arthurchappell Despite being unemployed at present, you still spend quite a bit of time out and about.
While I was working and had to go out I loved the idea of staying at home. Sunday was the day that I never left the house and if I had a day off I often took advantage and remained at home. Since I retired the idea of stagnating at home became much less desirable, so I make a concerted effort to go out every day.
Sometimes I literally catch the Metrolink to Manchester, wander around for an hour and buy a coffee then return home, but it does seem like a day out at times.
