I was curious if anyone had ever heard of UpWork (formerly ODesk)? It's evidently a freelance writing site where you accept jobs from people (from what I gathered taking a quick glance over the site).
I started filling out my profile, but I'm not really sure it's the kind of thing for me.
Have you ever used (been a writer for) a freelance writing site? What sorts of jobs did you get?

Yes, I've been a member since 2011. The first year wasn't very good as I did not get any response at all so I gave up for a while.
It's not only a freelance writing site. There are many types of work available there and I do mostly transcription work.
I wish you the best of luck in landing on your first job there.
